With the Skywalker saga coming to a close next month with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, naturally there is huge pressure on director JJ Abrams to deliver. Luckily, he had somebody who knows more about Star Wars than anyone else that he can consult: George Lucas. Abrams spoke with Total Film recently about the conversations he had with the Star Wars creator as he was writing the scrip for The Rise of Skywalker.

Bob Iger Shares What Happened With George Lucas And The Sequel Trilogy In New Memoir
Ever since the sequel trilogy films started being made, there have been questions about just how involved (or uninvolved) Star Wars creator George Lucas has been, as well as how Lucas truly feels about the new films. Well, wonder no more. Disney CEO Bob Iger recently released a new memoir, titled The Ride of a Lifetime: Lessons Learned from 15 Years as CEO of the Walt Disney Company, in which he discusses, in a fair amount of detail, exactly what went down with Lucas' involvement in the new Star Wars films.

Jon Favreau Shares The Advice George Lucas Gave Him About Working On 'Star Wars'

Although he's no longer directly involved in the production of Star Wars movies, George Lucas' influence is still felt throughout all the new and upcoming projects set in the galaxy far, far away. Jon Favreau, the writer and executive producer of The Mandalorian, recently revealed in an interview with GQ Middle East the advice that Lucas gave him about working on Star Wars. Favreau revealed that one of the key things Lucas told him was to always remember who the primary audience for Star Wars.

The Lucas Museum Of Narrative Art Previewed At SDCC
There may not be a better place to kick off the promotion for the upcoming Lucas Museum of Narrative Art than San Diego Comic Con. The annual convention, which is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year, has been, in many ways, celebrating narrative art in all its forms for five decades. With this in mind, three of the curators working Star Wars creator George Lucas and his wife Melody Hobson, the co-founders of the museum, took the stage at SDCC today to give us our first glimpse into the collection that will be featured at the museum when it opens in Los Angeles in a couple of years.

Starting this Friday, fans will finally be able to step into Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the new themed land opening at Disneyland in California. Earlier tonight, Disney held the dedication ceremony for Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and it featured several fan favorite guests from the Star Wars saga. The ceremony was hosted by Disney CEO Bob Iger, and featured appearances from Star Wars creator George Lucas, and original (and sequel) trilogy stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Billy Dee Williams.

Video: George Lucas Visited The Set Of The Final Season Of 'Game of Thrones'
The overlap between Star Wars and Game of Thrones are many, and only growing in numbers (sort of like the soldiers in the Night King's army, amirite?), with directors and cast members having been involved in both. This continued on the set of the final season of Thrones, when Star Wars creator George Lucas visited the set. Lucas' visit was featured in a behind the scenes video released by HBO, where he can been seen on set and offering some "direction" to Jon Snow actor Kit Harrington.

Brithday boy and Star Wars: The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau had a very cool visitor today on the set of his upcoming series, coming to the Disney streaming service next year. Star Wars creator George Lucas stopped by the set today to wish Favreau a happy birthday and to check out what's going on with the upcoming series. Video: ‘George Lucas on Star Wars Being Anti-Authoritarian'

When Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron isn't hoping for Marvel movies to fail so that people will be more interested in his five Avatar sequels, he's hosting a new show on AMC called James Cameron's Story of Science Fiction. On the series, Cameron interviews science fiction storytellers about the genre and its potential. Among those who will be interviewed for the series is Star Wars creator George Lucas. A preview clip for the series was released on the AMC YouTube channel which features Cameron and Lucas discussing how Star Wars has always been influenced by the politics of the day, such as the ways the Vietnam War was an influence on Lucas as he was crafting the Original trilogy. Since selling his company to Disney, the Maker himself, George Lucas, has been committed to finding a home for his latest passion project, and it's been a long and hard journey. After exploring possible locations in San Francisco and Chicago, the museum finally found a home in Los Angeles, and a groundbreaking ceremony earlier today made it official.

Watch Mark Hamill Get His Star On the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Today, Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill was honoured with a star on the famous "Hollywood Walk of Fame" in Los Angeles. Hamill was on hand for the ceremony, alongside Star Wars creator George Lucas and Han Solo actor Harrison Ford, both of whom spoke in tribute to their friend and colleague. Also in attendance at the event was The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, Rose Tico actress Kelly Marie Tran, and Lt. Connix actoress Billie Lourd (who is also the daughter of the late Carrie Fisher), as well as members of Hamill's family. You can watch the complete induction ceremony below,

Solo: A Star Wars Story director, Ron Howard's history with Star Wars creator George Lucas predates the original Star Wars film in 1977. Howard starred in Lucas' 1973 film American Graffiti, so when Howard to on the gig directing a Star Wars film he was sure to reach out to his old boss. Howard and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, another old friend of Lucas', spoke about Lucas' influence on the new film with Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican, as part of the magazine's cover story about Solo.

George Lucas Calls 'The Last Jedi' "Beautifully Made"
Ever since he sold his company to Disney and ceased to be involved in the production of Star Wars films, fans have wondered what Star Wars creator George Lucas thinks of the new films made without him. While Lucas's relationship with Star Wars has been rocky at times since 2013, apparently the maker is especially pleased with the latest film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, from writer director Rian Johnson. A spokesperson for Lucas revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Lucas had complimented Johnson on the film during a recent phone conversation and said that The Last Jedi was "beautifully made."

Kathleen Kennedy Comments on George Lucas' Current Level of Involvement in 'Star Wars'

Since selling Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012, George Lucas hasn't largely stepped away from Star Wars. He still pops up now then, visiting the set of Rogue One and at events like the world premier for The Force Awakens and the 40th anniversary panel at Star Wars Celebration, but he isn't really involved in Star Wars anymore. That being said, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said that he'll still offer little bits of advice about aspects that are important to him.

George Lucas' Star Wars: The Clone Wars won two Emmys for its fifth and final season at the 40th annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards back in 2013.
The show received awards in two different categories - Outstanding Special Class Animated Program and Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program.
