'Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser' Hotel Experience To Open In 2021

Earlier this year, Lucasfilm and Disney announced Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a upcoming two-night hotel experience opening at Disney World in Florida. The hotel is an entirely in-universe cruise-like experience, where guests board a luxury starcruiser for an adventure that will include interactions with Star Wars characters like Rey and Chewbacca and a port-day visit to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu (aka the Galaxy's Edge theme park).

Watch The "Dedication Moment" For The 'Rise of the Resistance' Ride At Disney World

Anyone whose been to a Galaxy's Edge park, either in California or Florida, will tell you it's an incredible experience.  It really is.  However, it's clear that the fact the Rise of the Resistance ride wasn't ready to open when the parks did earlier this year left a bit of a whole in the park.  Luckily, the ride is set to open, at long last, tomorrow in Disney World in Florida (sadly, however, it still won't open until January 17th in California).

'The Rise Of Skywalker' Content Coming To 'Star Tours' On December 20th

Star Tours II: The Adventure Continues is getting its first major update since 2017 later this year.  Lucasfilm announced today that a new addition, featuring a new location and characters from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.  The new destination will be added to the existing ride at Disneyland Resort in California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland Park, and Disneyland Paris on December 20th (the same day the film hits theaters).

The combining of Disney and Star Wars has produced countless amazing things, the largest and most recent example of this is Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. But, as expected, Disney is far from being done with infusing that Galaxy far, far away into Disney Parks.

Just recently Disney unveiled new details about the upcoming Star Wars-themed hotel coming to Walt Disney World Resort. Disney imagineers have been hard at work creating what is now being called  Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which invites guest on a two night "voyage" aboard luxury starship. Just like Galaxy's Edge, the Galactic Starcruiser will be a completely in-universe immersive experience.

"Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Adventure Awaits" TV Special To Air On Freeform On September 26th

Lucasfilm announced this week that a new TV special taking fans behind the scenes of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the new Star Wars theme park open now at Disneyland in Anaheim, California and opening soon at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, will air on Freeform on September 26th.  The special, titled Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Adventure Awaits, will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will feature celebrities like Kaley Cuoco, Keegan-Michael Key, Jay Leno, Sarah Hyland, and Miles Brown.

'Rise Of The Resistance' Ride At Galaxy's Edge Opening Dates Revealed

Back in May Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge officially opened at Disneyland in Anaheim, and is slated to open at Walt Disney World in Orlando on August 29th. Since his first appearance in season one of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Hondo Ohnaka has quickly become one of the most beloved characters in Star Wars. After headlining many great episodes of The Clone Wars, the Weequay pirate eventually made his way into Star Wars Rebels, Forces Of Destiny, and most recently starred in his own novel, Pirate's Price. But Hondo's story is far from over as we have just learned that he will play a pivotal role in Galaxy's Edge, the currently-under-construction expansion to Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Details About Oga's Cantina In "Galaxy's Edge" Revealed

Lucasfilm and Disney have revealed some details about the Cantina location in Galaxy's Edge, the Star Wars themed land that will be opening at Disneyland in California and Disney World in Flordia next year.  The announcement was made on the Disney Parks Blog, and it revealed that "Oga's Cantina" will serve both kid-friendly and adult-friendly drinks, and will also feature RX-24 (the StarSpeeder 3000 pilot droid) providing musical entertainment as the Cantina's resident DJ.

Watch Test Footage From the "Galaxy's Edge" Millennium Falcon Ride

Test footage from the Millennium Falcon ride that will be featured at the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge has made it's way online via the WDW News Today YouTube channel.  The video, taken during a presentation, is a demonstration of how the footage can be rendered in real time in 4K (more about the technical specs of the attraction can read about here on NVIDIA blog).  One feature of the ride is that passengers will have some level of control over what happens.  We get a glimpse of this in the video when the presenter demonstrates how you can look around the simulation.  You can check out the footage for yourself below,
