The combining of Disney and Star Wars has produced countless amazing things, the largest and most recent example of this is Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. But, as expected, Disney is far from being done with infusing that Galaxy far, far away into Disney Parks.
Just recently Disney unveiled new details about the upcoming Star Wars-themed hotel coming to Walt Disney World Resort. Disney imagineers have been hard at work creating what is now being called Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which invites guest on a two night "voyage" aboard luxury starship. Just like Galaxy's Edge, the Galactic Starcruiser will be a completely in-universe immersive experience.
The details about the new experience, which can best be described as a Disney-cruise but in (simulated) space, were revealed at the Disney Parks, Products, and Experience panel at D23 Expo. During the panel it was revealed that Galactic Starcruiser begins with fans boarding the Chandrila Star Line produced ship, The Halcyon (see the Instagram gallery above for what it will look like). Once on board they will interact with characters, both familiar (like Rey, Chewbacca, Stormtroopers, and Kylo Ren) and new, with opportunities for forging alliances that can impact the outcome of their story.
Other highlights of the experience include the opportunity fly The Halcyon and check out its defense systems (which are, apparently, "rarely" used). Fans young and old will also have the opportunity to wield a lightsaber, as they face off with a training remote. How exactly this will work in the real world was not revealed at the panel, but, knowing Disney, you can expect it will be a thrilling experience. There will also be a "port-day" visit to Black Spire Outpost on the planet Baatu, so fans can check out the Galaxy's Edge theme park.
No word yet on when Galactic Starcruiser will open.

On Galactic Starcruiser you board the “ship” (hotel) for an experience that lasts two days and two nights. The entire “crew” of the ship boards and leaves at the same time. pic.twitter.com/0eDmFBuY9B— The Star Wars Underworld (@TheSWU) August 25, 2019
There will be an “alien crew” on the ship, and every window looks out into space. Characters new and familiar will be around on the ship. The choices you make will have an impact on the story of your experience.— The Star Wars Underworld (@TheSWU) August 25, 2019
Your experience also includes a “port day” excursion day trip to Black Spire Outpost on Baatu. #D23Expo— The Star Wars Underworld (@TheSWU) August 25, 2019
You will also get to try piloting the ship and working with its defence systems. There is also a lower level of the ship where secret allegiances can be made. pic.twitter.com/2RODgB1Hx2— The Star Wars Underworld (@TheSWU) August 25, 2019
You will also get to face off against a training remote during your experience! pic.twitter.com/m3tTy7WPiQ— The Star Wars Underworld (@TheSWU) August 25, 2019
That seems to be it for the Galactic Starcruiser portion of the Disney Parks panel at #D23Expo #StarWars— The Star Wars Underworld (@TheSWU) August 25, 2019
The whole experience sounds incredible! But there is still one critical detail we still don't know: the price. An experience like this likely won't be cheap, so we all better start saving up our galactic credits if we want try out Galactic Starcuiser in the not-to-distant future.
