The MTV Movie Awards were held last night (even though they don't air until tonight, which seems very strange in this day and age) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens won big, picking up three awards.  The film won for "Movie of the Year", beating out Jurrasic World, Creed, and Straight Outta Compton, a stars Daisy Ridley (Rey) and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) won for "Breakthrough Performance" and "Best Villain" respectively.

Daisy Ridley and director JJ Abrams were on hand.  After winning the Breakthrough Performance Award, Ridley said in her acceptance speech, "It feels especially amazing to be part of a film that represents all genders, all races, and all ages in a positive way."

To accept the award for Movie of the Year, Abrams and Ridley "walked through a deconstructed recreation of the First Order’s Starkiller Base amid an audience holding hundreds of lightsabers".  Abrams said when accepting the award, "I gotta say, it was an incredible honor to be part of the Star Wars saga".

Ridley posted some pictures from the evening on her Instagram, check them out below,

Not only did Star Wars win big, but everyone in attendance got into the fun.  Game of Thrones star Emillia Clarke posted the following picture of her and a friend with their lightsabers from the event,

Congrats to Ridley, Driver, Abrams, and everyone who worked on the film for their success!
