Earlier today the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) announced the nominees for their upcoming 71st awards ceremony. Many of the top films of 2017 were given a nod, one of which being Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The eighth installment in the Skywalker saga was honored with two BAFTA nominations, including Best Special Visual Effects and Best Sound. In both categories, The Last Jedi will be facing off against some tough competition, including Blade Runner 2049, The Shape Of Water, Dunkirk, and War For The Planet Of The Apes.

Congratulations to Visual Effects Supervisor Ben Morris, Supervising Sound Editor Matthew Wood, Sound Designer Ren Klyce, Re-Recording Mixers David Parker and Michael Semanick, and Production Sound Mixer Stuart Wilson for this much deserved honor! May the Force be with them on February 18th when the awards ceremony is held.
