There's no denying the visual effects in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story were amazing, which makes it no surprise that the film has been nominated for seven Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards. Unsurprisingly, the use of CGI to create the characters of Grand Moff Tarkin and Princess Leia are among the aspects of the film that have been nominated. The categories the film was nominated in are,
Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature (Rogue One)
Outstanding Animated Performance in a Photoreal Feature (Grand Moff Tarkin)
Outstanding Created Environment in a Photoreal Feature (Scarif Complex)
Outstanding Virtual Cinematography in a Photoreal Project (Space Battle)
Outstanding Model in a Photoreal or Animated Project (Princess Leia and Star Destroyer)
Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature (Jedha Destruction)
Congrats to the visual effects teams that worked on Rogue One. Fingers crossed that the film will be bringing home many awards! The VES Awards ceremony takes place on February 7th. Last year, The Force Awakens picked up four VES Awards.
