'Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser' Hotel Experience To Open In 2021

Earlier this year, Lucasfilm and Disney announced Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a upcoming two-night hotel experience opening at Disney World in Florida. The hotel is an entirely in-universe cruise-like experience, where guests board a luxury starcruiser for an adventure that will include interactions with Star Wars characters like Rey and Chewbacca and a port-day visit to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu (aka the Galaxy's Edge theme park).

Watch The "Dedication Moment" For The 'Rise of the Resistance' Ride At Disney World

Anyone whose been to a Galaxy's Edge park, either in California or Florida, will tell you it's an incredible experience.  It really is.  However, it's clear that the fact the Rise of the Resistance ride wasn't ready to open when the parks did earlier this year left a bit of a whole in the park.  Luckily, the ride is set to open, at long last, tomorrow in Disney World in Florida (sadly, however, it still won't open until January 17th in California).

'The Rise Of Skywalker' Content Coming To 'Star Tours' On December 20th

Star Tours II: The Adventure Continues is getting its first major update since 2017 later this year.  Lucasfilm announced today that a new addition, featuring a new location and characters from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.  The new destination will be added to the existing ride at Disneyland Resort in California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland Park, and Disneyland Paris on December 20th (the same day the film hits theaters).

GMA Provides New Look Inside 'Rise Of The Resistance' At Galaxy's Edge

The TSA Says You Can't Bring "Thermal Detonator" Coke Bottles From "Galaxy's Edge" On Flights

Airport security has made its way into Star Wars news for the second time in six months.  This time, instead of stopping a Star Wars actor from attending Celebration because of the colour of his skin and his religion, they're banning fans from bringing home a fun collectible from the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme parks.  The collectible in question, the "thermal detonator" Coca-Cola bottles that are sold exclusively in the theme parks.

Details About The 'Galactic Starcruiser' Hotel And Experience Coming To Disney World Revealed At D23

The combining of Disney and Star Wars has produced countless amazing things, the largest and most recent example of this is Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. But, as expected, Disney is far from being done with infusing that Galaxy far, far away into Disney Parks.

Just recently Disney unveiled new details about the upcoming Star Wars-themed hotel coming to Walt Disney World Resort. Disney imagineers have been hard at work creating what is now being called  Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which invites guest on a two night "voyage" aboard luxury starship. Just like Galaxy's Edge, the Galactic Starcruiser will be a completely in-universe immersive experience.

Preview Excerpt From 'Black Spire' Released

Lucasfilm has released the first preview excerpt from the upcoming novel Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Black Spire by Delilah S. Dawson, which hits shelves later this month on August 27th.  The novel takes place between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise Of Skywalker, and takes place in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Baatu, aka in the in-universe location of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the recently opened Disney theme park expansion.  It also features the characters Vi Moradi and Cardinal, who first appeared Dawson's 2017 novel, Star Wars: Phasma.

"Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Adventure Awaits" TV Special To Air On Freeform On September 26th

Lucasfilm announced this week that a new TV special taking fans behind the scenes of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the new Star Wars theme park open now at Disneyland in Anaheim, California and opening soon at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, will air on Freeform on September 26th.  The special, titled Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Adventure Awaits, will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will feature celebrities like Kaley Cuoco, Keegan-Michael Key, Jay Leno, Sarah Hyland, and Miles Brown.

The Official "Galaxy's Edge" Cookbook To Be Released November 5th

Maybe you've been to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and are hungry to bring part of the experience home. Or maybe you haven't been yet and are looking for a taste of life in Black Spire.  Either way, you might be interested in checking out the upcoming official Galaxy's Edge cookbook, being released by Disney and Insight Editions on November 5th.  The book, which is titled Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, will feature recipes for dishes that are inspired by the food available at the park (which, like the park itself, is presented as "in-universe" food from the Star Wars galaxy).

'Rise Of The Resistance' Ride At Galaxy's Edge Opening Dates Revealed

Back in May Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge officially opened at Disneyland in Anaheim, and is slated to open at Walt Disney World in Orlando on August 29th. While one of Galaxy's Edge's rides, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, is currently up and running, there's still one more, perhaps even bigger attraction that is still coming soon.

The TIE Echelon At Galaxy's Edge Was Designed By Colin Trevorrow's 'Episode IX' Team

If you believe in parallel dimensions then there's possibly a version of May 2019 where the biggest thing in Star Wars to happen would have been the release of Star Wars Episode IX, directed by Colin Trevorrow.  In our dimension, however, Trevorrow was let go from working on Episode IX in 2017, Episode IX will be released in December and directed by JJ Abrams, and the biggest thing to happen last month was the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland in California.

George Lucas, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, And More Attend the "Galaxy's Edge" Dedication Ceremony

Starting this Friday, fans will finally be able to step into Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the new themed land opening at Disneyland in California.  Earlier tonight, Disney held the dedication ceremony for Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and it featured several fan favorite guests from the Star Wars saga.  The ceremony was hosted by Disney CEO Bob Iger, and featured appearances from Star Wars creator George Lucas, and original (and sequel) trilogy stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Billy Dee Williams.

John Williams' Full Galaxy's Edge Musical Suite Has Been Released

One of the many gifts we've received from this new era of Star Wars is much more John Williams music. The legendary composer provided the scores for The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, gave Han Solo his musical theme in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and is still expected to score The Rise Of Skywalker later this year. But Williams is far from done with Star Wars, as it was previously announced that he would also be scoring the music for Galaxy's Edge, the upcoming Star Wars themed expansion to Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

'Galaxy's Edge' Reservations All Claimed Within The First Two Hours

With Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the upcoming theme park expansion, opening at Disneyland in California on May 31st, Disney began offering guests the chance to reserve their spot at the theme this morning and, as expected, they didn't last long.  All the reservations for four hour visits to Galaxy's Edge between May 31st and June 23rd were claimed in under two hours.  So if you were hoping to go to the park in the first three weeks, you are out of luck.

Cover and Synopsis For 'Star Wars: Black Spire' Revealed

Lucasfilm and Del Rey publishing have released the cover and official synopsis for the upcoming novel Star Wars: Black Spire.  The novel ties-in with the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme park expansion coming this summer to Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida.  Black Spire is written by Delilah S. Dawson, who has previously written the The Last Jedi tie-in novel Star Wars: Phasma in 2017.  The book will be released on August 27th (two days before Galaxy's Edge opens at Disney World).
