Make sure to circle October 4th on your calendar and start saving! Lucasfilm announced today that October 4th, 2019 will be the launch date for toys and other products related to three of its major upcoming releases.  They're calling the event "Triple Force Friday", and like previous "Force Friday" events (held in 2015 and 2017 for the launches of the The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi products, respectively) there will be in-store events for fans who wish to purchase their first products at 12:01am.

What sets this event apart, of course, is that it's not just the launch of the movie toys but for products related to a TV series and a video game as well.  Triple Force Friday will see the launch of tie-in merchandise for Star Wars Episode IX (hitting theaters a little over two months later), The Mandalorian (the upcoming live action series that will be released on Disney+ this fall), and Jedi: Fallen Order (the highly anticipated video game from EA's Respawn Studio, also being released this coming fall).

Much like previous events, the success of failure of Triple Force Friday will have everything to do with how much product is available on the day of.  The first Force Friday event in 2015 was marred by reports of stores not having nearly enough product, though Force Friday II in 2017 was generally better received.  Hopefully, by having the event a little later in the year (previous Force Fridays were held in early September), there will be enough for everyone this go around.

As for what fans can expect to pick up on October 4th, StarWars.com promises a wide-range of merchandise with "products spanning categories from toys to collectibles, housewares, books, apparel, and more".

Time to start saving up, it's going to be an expensive fall!
