Back during the promotion for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rey actress Daisy Ridley did an interview with Elle UK about the film while "building" a Lego Millennium Falcon set.  Now, with The Rise of Skywalker in theaters, Ridley sat down for another interview with Elle UK, this time while building the Lego set "Pasaana Speeder Chase".  In the interview she reflects on her time working on Star Wars, and also gives some updates to the answers she gave in 2017.

Chris Terrio Explains Why Rose Tico Is Barely In 'The Rise Of Skywalker'

As the finale (for now) to the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker gets a lot of things right (the final show down between "all the Sith" and "all the Jedi", for instance).  It also gets several things wrong (Rey being a Palpatine is, in my book, a huge misstep).  And while most of these distinctions will fuel fan discussions for decades to come, one area where the film undeniably gets it wrong in a way doesn't lead to fun debate or fan theories is how underused the character of Rose Tico is.

One of the most discussed aspects of the film going into Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was how the film handled the character of Leia Organa, since her actress, Carrie Fisher, died almost three years before the film's release.  Now that the film has been in theaters for a few weeks, and audiences have been able to see how the filmmakers created the character's role using footage shot for The Force Awakens, some of the key crew members for The Rise of Skywalker took part in a group interview with Vanity Fair's Anthony Breznican about how they created Leia's final performance.

Review: 'The Rise of Skywalker' Is A Satisfying, If Flawed, Finale (Spoiler Free)

When the final scene of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker irised-out and the words "Directed by JJ Abrams" appeared on the screen at the world premiere on Monday night, I couldn't help but stand and applaud. Billed as the end of the Skywalker Saga (even though Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy acknowledged before hand that, some day, there will probably be more), the film does everything needed to be a fun, emotional, and satisfying end to the story that began 42 years ago.

Back during the run up to The Last Jedi, Daisy Ridley and her Murder on the Orient Express co-star Josh Gad released a series of videos from the set of that film where Gad attempted to get answers from Ridley to his questions about the next Star Wars film.  The videos caught more and more elaborate as they went, with the duo eventually enlisting their co-star Judi Dench, as well as several other celebrities (including JJ Abrams and then-Episode IX director Colin Trevorrow), all of which culminated in Gad hosting the The Last Jedi preview panel at Celebration Orlando in 2017.

Ever since the cast of The Force Awakens was revealed back in 2014 (before the film even had a title), fans have been wondering why Billy Dee Williams wasn't a part of the sequel trilogy. Lando fans were dealt a further blow when it was revealed that Williams wouldn't be back for The Last Jedi either.  Lando wound up being the only major character from the original trilogy to be not be played by their original actor in their first appearance in Disney era of Star Wars, with Donald Glover playing the part in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

With the end of the sequel trilogy in sight, the stars of The Rise of Skywalker are already being asked if they would return to Star Wars in the future. It certainly wouldn't be the first time the franchise brought back it's stars, decades after they first thought they were done with their roles. The actors who play the trio of main heroes in the current trilogy, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac, simultaneously didn't commit to a return in a recent interview with Variety, they didn't rule it out either.
