Lucasfilm Reveals The First Stories In New "The High Republic" Publishing Campaign

After months of anticipation, Lucasfilm has finally revealed the details about the new publishing campaign, The High Republic, during a presentation in Los Angeles tonight.  Lucasfilm representatives explained that what they had been calling "Project Luminous", is a new series of books and comics that are set in two hundred years before the events of the nine film Skywalker Saga in an era known as "the High Republic". The stories will be told across multiple publishers and target age ranges.

New 'Star Wars: Bounty Hunters' Ongoing Comic Book Series To Debut In March 2020

Lucasfilm and Marvel announced a new ongoing comic book series debuting in March 2020, titled Star Wars: Bounty Hunters.  The series will be written by Ethan Sacks (Star Wars: Allegiance) with art by Paolo Villanelli.  The series will follow the character  Beilert Valance, who debuted in the Target Vader miniseries, which wrapped up today.  The series will also feature appearances by Boba Fett and Bossk.

Preview Of "The Rise of Kylo Ren #1" Released

Before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters, fans will get a brief look at some of the backstory to Supreme Leader Kylo Ren when Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren #1, the first in a four issue comic book miniseries, hits shelves on December 18th.  The series, which is written by Charles Soule (Poe Dameron, Obi-Wan and Anakin), will pick up right after Luke Skywalker and Ben Solo's infamous confrontation which led to Ben destroying Luke's temple (as seen in The Last Jedi).

Preview of Marvel's 'Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Allegiance #2'

Lucasfilm has released a preview of the next issue of the Marvel comics series Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Allegiance #2 (the first issue was released today).  The series is set between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise Of Skywalker, and tells the story of General Leia going to Mon Cala to recruit some old allies to their cause.  Among those potential recruits is the son of the late Admiral Ackbar.  Joining Leia on this mission are Chewbacca, Rey, and Rose Tico.  You can see part of the preview below,

Here's Every 'Jedi: Fallen Order' Product Debuting On Triple Force Friday

"Star Wars: Empire Ascendant" To Serve As Finale To Marvel's Ongoing "Star Wars" Comic Book Series

Earlier this year, we learned that Marvel's ongoing Star Wars comic book series will be coming to an end.  Now, StarWars.com has revealed the details about the finale issue that will be released this December.  This issue, titled Star Wars: Empire Ascendant, takes place after the events of Star Wars #75 (the final issue of the series) and will set the stage for the events of The Empire Strikes BackEmpire Ascendant will be written by Charles Soule, Greg Pak, Simon Spurrier, and Ethan Sacks, with art by Luke Ross, and Roland Boschi.

Marvel's Ongoing 'Star Wars' Comic Series To End In November

Star Wars will soon be seeing some massive changes on the comic book front as Marvel has just announced that its biggest series set in a Galaxy far, far away is drawing to a close.

Earlier today Marvel revealed their monthly comic solicitations, which included a rundown of all the Star Wars comics coming to shelves in the next few months. Included were details on issue #75 of Marvel's flagship "Star Wars" series where it was mentioned that this would be the final issue of the series:

Recap Of The Lucasfilm Publishing Panel At #SDCC

We've had a busy day of Star Wars panels at San Diego Comic-Con today, and it's not over yet! The Lucasfilm Publishing panel was just held moments ago at the convention and we were treated to some intriguing insight and exciting reveals. Our very own Dominic Jones was there to report back on all that was talked about.

The panelists included E.K. Johnston, Charles Soule, Timothy Zahn, Katie Cook, Zoraida Cordova, Kevin Schinik, Lou Anders, Delilah Dawson, George Mann, Cavam Scott, Rebecca Roahorse, and Michael Siglain. The creators shared their experiences writing and enjoying Star Wars, and we even got a big reveal at the end.

'Age Of Resistance' Comics To Delve Into Kylo Ren's Training With Snoke

On top of all the Star Wars films, TV shows, books and video games that we are constantly anticipating, we also have a wide assortment of Star Wars comics from Marvel to look forward to. Marvel is currently in the midst of releasing their "Age Of" limited run series, which began late last year with Age Of Republic and continued on in Age Of Rebellion. Those respective miniseries focused on characters in the Prequel and Original Trilogies, and now Marvel will be moving into the Sequel era with Age Of Resistance.

Marvel's 'Star Wars' Comic Gets One Step Closer To 'The Empire Strikes Back'

The ongoing Star Wars comic book series from Marvel is about to reach a huge turning point in its story.  StarWars.com announced today that the series' next major story arc, beginning with issue #68, will be an adventure that is set just before the events of The Empire Strikes Back.  The July 10th issue will also see a new creative team being brought on board with Greg Pak taking over as writer and Phil Noto coming on as artist.

'Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order' Prequel Comic Announced

Over the past few days we've gotten a lot of video game news courtesy of E3, and some specifically exciting reveals from the upcoming game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. We were treated to 14 minutes of gameplay, as well as a brand new trailer for the game. In addition, StarWars.com has now announced that Marvel will be producing a Prequel comic miniseries that will tie in with the game.

Marvel Announces New "Galaxy's Edge" Comic Book Miniseries

Lucasfilm and Marvel announced a new Star Wars comic book miniseries, titled Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, that will tie-in with the upcoming theme park expansions of the same name at Disneyland and Disney World.  The story will be set on the planet Baatu (the same place that the theme park will be set) and will follow the character Dok-Ondar  The series will debut in April, and will be written by Ethan Sacks and art by Will Sliney.

'Alphabet Squadron' Trilogy Of Novels And 'TIE Fighter' Comic Book Series Announced

Lucasfilm made another exciting set of publishing announcement today on StarWars.com. First, it was announced that the upcoming novel Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron by Alexander Freed will be the first in a trilogy of novels.  This would be the third  trilogy of novels that will have been released as part of the "new" canon (the others being the Aftermath trilogy by Chuck Wendig and the new Thrawn trilogy by Tim Zahn). 'Age of Rebellion' Comic Book Covers Revealed

Lucasfilm has revealed the covers for the first three issues of Star Wars: Age of Rebellion, the upcoming series of one-shot comics all set in the original trilogy era.  The series is similar to the current Age of Republic series of one-shots that are currently on sale.  The series is written by Greg Pak, and will debut in April.  The covers revealed were for the issues about Princess Leia, Grand Moff Tarkin, and Darth Vader, as well as a special issue of four short stories about Biggs Darklighter, Jek Porkins, Yoda, and IG-88.  Check out two of the covers below,

New Comic Book Miniseries "Vader — Dark Visions" Announced

Lucasfilm and Marvel announced today a new limited series of comic books titled Star Wars: Vader—Dark Visions.  The series, which will debut in March 2019, will be written by Denis Hopeless (Cloak and Dagger) with art for the first issue by Paolo Villanelli (Lando: Double or Nothing) and art for the second issue by Brian Level (Thanos Legacy).  The series will take a different point of view on Vader, presenting him as something of an "anti-hero".

Chuck Wendig Fired By Marvel (And The Dangerous Message It Sends)

In a surprising move, Star Wars author Chuck Wendig took to Twitter today to announce that he had been fired by Marvel and taken off the upcoming Star Wars: Shadow of Vader comic book mini-series he'd been working on, as well as another unannounced Star Wars project with Marvel.  The first three issues of the series will still be written by Wendig, however the final two will be written by someone else (or just maybe just cancelled, it's not really clear, since Marvel has yet to comment on the news).  The Star Wars Aftermath author revealed in a lengthy Twitter thread today (which you can read at the bottom of this article) that he got the news this afternoon, as well as Marvel's reason for firing him.  That reason: they didn't like his tweets.
