Alden Ehrenreich Recalls How He Reacted When He Was Cast As Han Solo

In a new preview of the bonus materials that will be included on the home media release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Han Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich recounted how he spent his day after finding out he got the role of a lifetime.  The clip, which was released by Fandango and is part of the "Solo: The Director & Cast Roundtable" featurette, shows Alden telling his cast mates what it was like to be case as Han Solo.  The story is later described by his co-star Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) as, "the most Alden answer I've ever heard."  Check out the clip below,

Three New 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Clips Revealed

"You happen to notice that freighter down there?  You know what on it?  About 30 hired guns.  All I gotta do is give them the signal and you're surrounded."

With Solo: A Star Wars Story hitting theaters this month, the cast of the film has been popping up on talk shows everywhere.  And with talk show appearances come new clips from the film.  In the last day or so Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (L3-37), and Paul Bettany (Dryden Vos) have all debuted clips featuring their characters during interviews.  First, Ehrenreich was on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and debuted a clip featuring Han, Chewie (Joonas Suotamo), Beckett (Woody Harrelson), and Qi'Ra (Emilia Clarke) in a showdown with Enfys Nest.  You can see the clip and watch the interview that follows (where Alden reveals that he had to learn a bit of Shyriiwook for the film and that there is a scene that's subtitled in the movie) below,

Lucasfilm Launches #RoarForChange Charitable Initiative in Support of UNICEF

With May the 4th (aka Star Wars Day) coming up tomorrow, Lucasfilm has launched a new charitable initiative called #RoarForChange.  The challenge is for fans to upload a video of themselves doing their best Wookiee impression to Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and Disney will donate $1 for every video uploaded, as well as for every share and like on those videos (up to $1 million).  The money raised will go to support UNICEF and their efforts to improve and save the lives of children all around the world.

In advance of the film's release next month, Lucasfilm has released a new featurette about Solo: A Star Wars Story.  The video features interviews with director Ron Howard, co-screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, and stars Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Donald Glover (Lando Clarissian), and Emilia Clarke (Qi'Ra).  It also includes loads of footage from the film that had not previously been released in trailers or TV spots.  Check it out for yourself below,

New Footage From 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Screened at CinemaCon

With just over a month until Lucasfilm releases Solo: A Star Wars Story in theaters, the studio debuted a new preview clip from the film at CinemaCon, the annual event National Association of Theatre Owners hold in Las Vegas.  The clip from the film features the first meeting of Han Solo (played by Alden Ehrenreich) and Lando Calrissian (played by Donald Glover).  The duo are introduced by Qi'Ra (Emilia Clarke) and their first interaction involves a card game.  The scene was described by Anthony D'Alessandro for Deadline, who writes,

A couple of new still images from Solo: A Star Wars Story were released online today by Entertainment Weekly.  The first image features Alden Ehrenreich as young Han Solo next to Chewbacca (played by Joonas Suotamo) in the dingy looking bar that we've seen a couple of times in the trailer.  The other features another look at Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian in his fur coat.  In addition, Ehrenreich, Glover, and director Ron Howard spoke with EW's Anthony Breznican about the film.

Empire Reveals New Images From 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'

Two new still images from the upcoming film Solo: A Star Wars Story were released today by Empire Magazine.  One features Alden Ehrenreich as Han hanging on to a cable outside the Conveyex train seen in the trailers.  The other gives us another look at Paul Bettany's character Dryden Vos.  What's more interesting about the Vos picture, however, is what's in the background.  It appears Vos is standing in front of a suit of Mandalorian armor.  Check out the pictures below,

New Still Image From 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Revealed

A new still image from the upcoming film Solo: A Star Wars Story was released online today by USA Today as part of their summer movie preview.  The image features Alden Ehrenreich as young Han Solo standing with Chewbacca in a desert setting which was glimpsed briefly in the trailer that was released this weekend.  Ehrenreich was also interviewed for the feature and he described Han's story in the film saying, "He's more of an idealist in hardscrabble circumstances, dreaming of a better life and all the adventures he's going to have. Part of the fun is watching him face reality and learn some hard lessons."

One of the biggest surprises of the marketing for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been the redesigned Millennium Falcon.  When we first see the Falcon in A New Hope, it has clearly seen better days (in the words of Luke Skywalker, "What a piece of junk!")  What we didn't release until now is just how much nicer it used to be.  The trailers, and subsequent still images, released have given us a look at what the Falcon looked like when it was owned by Lando Calrissian.

There's no deny that Alden Ehrenreich has a big vest to fill.  The young actor is taking over the role of Han Solo from Harrison Ford, who made the character iconic in the original trilogy and then reprised the role in 2015 for The Force Awakens.  Ehrenreich is set to make his debut as young Han (before he met Luke Skywalker and Ben Kenobi in the Cantina) in May in Solo: A Star Wars Story.  He sat down recently with Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican to talk about how the Han we see in Solo is different from the one we meet in A New Hope.  The interview was released in advance of the cover story about Solo in an upcoming issue of EW.

A new set of photos, showing members of the main cast in a scene together, from the young Han Solo film set have been leaked by TMZ.  The pictures and short video show Alden Ehrenreich's Han Solo and Woody Harrelson's Beckett in a scene with Chewbacca and possibly the character played by Game of Thrones star Emila Clarke.  And for those wondering, these are apparently from before directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were removed from the project and replaced by Ron Howard.   Given that we don't know the context of the scene being filmed, it's hard to say these are major spoilers but if you are trying to avoid all Han Solo film spoilers then stop reading now.  This is your SPOILER ALERT!
