Video: Tiya Sircar And Other Celebrities Try 'Vader Immortal'

Earlier this year, ILMxLAB launched a brand new virtual reality experience for the Oculus Quest, called Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series.  The first of three "episodes" were released when the Quest launched, with two more coming later this year.  The story, which is set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, takes place in Darth Vader's mysterious castle on Mustafar (seen in Rogue One) and allows you to explore the castle, the planet, and train to become a Jedi.

To promote the experience, as well as the recently released Quest headset, Oculous partnered with the YouTube channel FBE to get some celebrities to try out Vader Immortal.  In the video below you can see Star Wars Rebels star Tiya Sircar (Sabine), as well as Ben Schwartz (who was credited as a voice consultant for BB-8 in The Force Awakens), Thomas Middleditch (Sillicon Valley), and Chris Bosh (former NBA all-star and champion), try their hand at Star Wars VR.  Check it out,

Back in April at Star Wars Celebration Chicago, I had the chance to try the Vader Immortal demo that was available on the show floor, which featured much of the same content that the celebs got to try (just without the opening part on the ship).  The experience was a lot of fun, and very immersive (I got so caught up in the game that while swinging my lightsaber at a training droid, I accidentally made contact with *real* wall).  Despite this, it was extremely fun. The story portion of the experience is very engaging, though the lightsaber training is the stand out aspect.  And, I have to admit, coming face-to-face with Darth Vader while seemingly in the actual galaxy far, far away was an awe inspiring experience.

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series Episode I is available now on the Oculus Store.
