'Vader Immortal: Episode III' To Be Released On November 21st

As if there wasn't enough new Star Wars content coming out in November 2019, what with the premiere of The Mandalorian on Disney+ and the release of the video game Jedi: Fallen Order, we can now add another piece of content to that list.  Lucasfilm announced today that the third and final episode of Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series will be released on the Oculous Store on November 21st, 2019 (nine days after the premiere of the first episode of The Mandalorian and six days after the release of Jedi: Fallen Order).  A new poster for Vader Immortal: Episode III was also released, which you can see below,

Video Review: 'Secrets Of The Empire'

This past weekend, while in New York for Comic Con, my friends Chris "Starrapter" Abbot, Teddy, and I went over to the Oculus near the World Trader Center to try out the Star Wars: Secrets Of The Empire virtual reality (VR) experience.  The experience was a was a collaboration between the ILMxLAB and The VOID, and can be played at The VOID locations across North America (full list here).  In the experience, you are a Rebel soldier on a secret mission to the planet Mustafar between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

NYCC 2019: 'Vader Immortal' Panel Recap

New York Comic Con kicked off today in the big apple, and ILMxLAB helped get things going with a panel previewing Episodes 2 & 3 or Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series.  The panel was moderated by Indie Wire's Christian Blauvelt, and featured Vader Immortal director Ben Snow and Lucasfilm Story Group member Matt Martin.  Over the course of the hour long discussion, Snow and Martin gave fans an overview of what Vader Immortal is all about, the challenges faced when creating immersive virtual reality (VR) experiences, and teased what's to come in the third and final chapter.

'Vader Immortal - Episode II' Officially Launches With New Trailer

Fans of Star Wars and Virtual Reality were treated to a big surprise earlier today as ILMxLAB not only revealed a new Vader Immortal trailer, but announced that Episode II of the VR series is available to play right now!

The news was announced at the Oculus Connect 6 event where that amazing trailer was revealed. This new episode will take you deeper into, and below Darth Vader's castle on Mustafar as you further explore your abilities with the Force. You will encounter new locations such as new Lightsaber dojo, as well as new foes, such as the terrifying four-armed Darkghast. You can check out the new trailer below:

'Vader Immortal: Episode II' To Be Previewed At D23

Lucasfilm and Disney announced today that the new virtual reality experience Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series will be getting a preview panel at D23 Expo later this month.  The official D23 Blog announced today that fans will be able to attend at Vader Immortal panel at the convention on Friday August 23rd at 2pm on Stage 28.  The panel will feature an exclusive preview of Episode II of the series (Episode I was released on the Oculus Quest back in May).

Video: Tiya Sircar And Other Celebrities Try 'Vader Immortal'

Earlier this year, ILMxLAB launched a brand new virtual reality experience for the Oculus Quest, called Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series.  The first of three "episodes" were released when the Quest launched, with two more coming later this year.  The story, which is set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, takes place in Darth Vader's mysterious castle on Mustafar (seen in Rogue One) and allows you to explore the castle, the planet, and train to become a Jedi.

In a new feature by Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican, Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series writer David S. Goyer and other key creatives gave fans new insight into the story of the upcoming virtual reality experience, developed by ILMxLABs. The first episode of Vader Immortal will be available for $9.99 on the Oculus Quest headset on May 21st (just two weeks from now).  Two more episodes are slated to come out later this year.

ILMxLAB Releases 'Project Porg' For Magic Leap One

ILMxLAB, the division of Industrial Light and Magic that focuses on virtual and augmented reality projects, has released it's latest Star Wars experience. The new experience, titled Project Porg is available on the Magic Leap One mixed reality glasses, and allows fans to experience what it would be like to have a Porg, the adorable (and delicious) bird-like creatures that we met on Ahch-To in The Last Jedi, as a pet.  Fans will be able to train their Porg, and witness it growing and evolving over time.

ILMxLAB Announces "Project Porg", A New 'Star Wars' Mixed Reality Experiment

It's been a big couple of weeks for ILMxLAB.  Late last month they announced Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series, coming to the Oculus Quest in 2019, and now they've revealed their latest project, Star Wars: Project Porg.  This new project is a "mixed reality experiment", which will see the user befriending the inhabitants of the planet Ach-To, who became a phenomenon in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

'Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series' Announced!

Lucasfilm and ILMxLAB announced today that a new Star Wars VR series, titled Vader Immortal, will launch in 2019 on the Oculus Quest in 2019.  Taking place between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, the three episode series is set on Mustafar, specifically at Vader's ominous castle first seen in Rogue One.  Vader Immortal is written by David S.
