The Star Wars publishing panel at San Diego Comic Con just finished up, and a ton of exciting news and info about Star Wars books and comics was revealed. The panel includes various authors and creators including Tom Angleberger, Rae Carson, Charles Soule, Daniel José Older, Adam Rex, Katie Cook, Jody Houser, EK Johnston, Cavan Scott, Justina Ireland, Amy Ratcliffe and Timothy Zahn.

First author up is Tom Angleberger, author of "The Mighty Chewbacca". Says he realized he would have to work out how to write what Chewie would say when he reacted to stuff #SDCC #StarWars

Next up is Most Wanted author Rae Carson. The book was written before she could see #Solo, but she was able to read the screenplay. #SDCC #StarWars

Next up is comics writer Charles Soule. About the upcoming ending of the Poe Dameron series, says it was supposed to end much sooner than it did but audience reaction to the series lead to it getting multiple extensions from LFL & Marvel #sdcc #StarWars

The final issues will deal with Black Squadron, explaining where they were during TLJ and how the destruction of the Hosnian system changed the balance in the galaxy #SDCC #StarWars

About bring in Sana Starros from the comics to Last Shot, Older says it was important have a character who can call out Han on his crap. Also because it was important have more black women in #StarWars #SDCC

Next up is "Are You Scared Darth Vader" author Adam Rex describes how his book interacts directly with the reader. Says his own kid loved the book, which got him into #StarWars in general! #SDCC

Next up Tim Zahn! About Thrawn Alliances he says, Palpatine tends to have ulterior motives under his ulterior motives. Adds that the book questions both if Thrawn is truly loyal AND if Vader's past ks a buried as Palpatine wants it to be #SDCC #StarWars

Says he wanted to do a Thrawn/Anakin story and Lucasfilm wanted a Thrawn/Vader story, so they compromised and did both. Adds that "You can't have a good Anakin story without Padme" #SDCC StarWars
