Lucasfilm Reveals The First Stories In New "The High Republic" Publishing Campaign

After months of anticipation, Lucasfilm has finally revealed the details about the new publishing campaign, The High Republic, during a presentation in Los Angeles tonight.  Lucasfilm representatives explained that what they had been calling "Project Luminous", is a new series of books and comics that are set in two hundred years before the events of the nine film Skywalker Saga in an era known as "the High Republic". The stories will be told across multiple publishers and target age ranges.

Lucasfilm Publishing Teases "Project Luminous", To Be Released In 2020 (Updated!)

The news came fast and furious out of Star Wars Celebration Chicago, with new trailer launches, TV previews, video game snake peaks, and so much more.  One story that flew somewhat under the radar, was the announcement of "Project Luminous" from Lucasfilm publishing.  The announcement was made at the end of the "Lucasfilm Publishing Writers Roundtable" panel on Monday, where it was revealed that authors Cavan Scott, Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older and Charles Soule would all be contributing to this project.  Outside of that, nothing is known.

New 'Last Shot' Preview Excerpt Features Lando & L3-37

A new preview from the upcoming novel Star Wars: Last Shot by Daniel Jose Older has been released on StarWars.com.  The excerpt, which can be read or listened to, features Lando Calrissian and the new droid L3-37 who will be played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the film Solo: A Star Wars Story.  The novel, which is a Han and Lando adventure, will cover multiple eras including before Solo and after Return of the Jedi.  This new preview takes place prior to the upcoming film.

New 'Last Shot' Preview Excerpt Features Sana Starros

Lucasfilm has released a new preview excerpt from the upcoming novel Star Wars: Last Shot by Daniel Jose Older.  The preview features Han Solo alongside Sana Starros, a character who first rose to prominence in the Marvel Star Wars comic book series.  Last Shot, which will be released on April 17th and marks Sana's first appearance outside the comic book medium.  You can read part of the preview below,

New 'Star Wars: Last Shot' Preview Excerpt Features Han and Ben Solo

The first time we saw Han Solo and his son together in a Star Wars story it ended with Ben murdering his father, so it's safe to say they had some issues.  Outside of The Force Awakens most of their relationship has remained a mystery, however we are about to get another peak at Ben's early days with his father in the upcoming novel Star Wars: Last Shot by Daniel Jose Older.  The book, which is being released to tie in with Solo: A Star Wars Story, tells the story of a Han and Lando adventure that covers multiple eras, including after Return of the Jedi.  A preview excerpt from the post-Jedi section of the book was released on StarWars.com and it features Han and Ben together.  Check out part of it below,

'Star Wars: Last Shot' Preview Synopsis Released

Last Friday, Lucasfilm unveiled the tie-in books that will be released to coincide with the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story in theaters.  Among the books announced was the novel Star Wars: Last Shot by Daniel Jose Older, which will star Han and Lando and will be set across multiple time periods, including before Solo and after Return of the Jedi.  Following the announcement, the Penguin Random House listing for the book was updated with a full preview synopsis, giving us more insight into the story of the book.  Check it out below,

'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Tie-In Books and Comics Announced!

Lucasfilm publishing announced the full slate of tie-in books and comics for Solo: A Star Wars Story today in a feature by Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican.  Among the announcements are the adult novel titled Star Wars: Last Shot  by Daniel Jose Older (Shadowshaper, Half-Resurection Blues) about Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, the YA novel Star Wars: Most Wanted by Rae Carson (The Girl of Fire and Thorns) about Han and Qi'ra, and the comic book series Lando: Double or Nothing by Rodney Barnes.  In addition, The Art of Solo by Phil Szostak and Solo: The Official Guide by Pablo Hidalgo were also announced.

Watch The Lucasfilm Publishing Panels From New York Comic Con

Last weekend during New York Comic Con, Lucasfilm publishing hosted two major panels about the recent and upcoming releases of Star Wars books and now Penguin Random House has uploaded high quality versions of the panels to YouTube so that everyone can watch them.  The first panel, held on Friday, featured twelve authors who have written Star Wars books talking about their history with Star Wars and making announcements about what's to come.  The second panel, held on Saturday, features 19 of the 43 authors who contributed to the From A Certain Point Of View collection of short stories.  You can check out both panels below,
