New Padme Amidala Novel, "Queen's Peril" Announced

After the success of this year's Star Wars: Queen's Shadow, Lucasfilm publishing has announced another Padme Amidala novel from author E.K. Johnston is coming.  Star Wars: Queen's Peril was announced today on The Star Wars Show.  The novel is a prequel to Queen's Shadow (which took place after the events of The Phantom Menace), and will tell the story of Padme's life after she was first elected Queen of Naboo prior to Episode I.  The novel is slated to hit shelves on May 5th, 2020.

Catherine Taber Will Narrate The Audiobook For "Queen's Shadow"

2019 is a year full of amazing new Star Wars content, and that includes a plethora of new Star Wars books. One of the most highly anticipated novels to be released this year is Star Wars: Queen's Shadow, the first ever novel to focus on Padmé Amidala. The book will examine Padmé's life after her tenure as queen of Naboo and before she takes on the role of senator, between the events of The Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones. As always, the book will be released in print as well as audiobook form, and some recent news will certainly entice many fans to listen to Queen's Shadow in addition to just reading it.

Tweet Recap Of The 'Star Wars' Publishing Panel At #SDCC

The Star Wars publishing panel at San Diego Comic Con just finished up, and a ton of exciting news and info about Star Wars books and comics was revealed. The panel includes various authors and creators including Tom Angleberger, Rae Carson, Charles Soule, Daniel José Older, Adam Rex, Katie Cook, Jody Houser, EK Johnston, Cavan Scott, Justina Ireland, Amy Ratcliffe and Timothy Zahn.

New 'Star Wars' Novels and Comics Announced During San Diego Comic Con

Today during the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at San Diego Comic Con several new Star Wars novels and comic books from fan favourite authors were announced.  This included two new novels that fans have been hoping to see for some time, as well as some exciting developments about what's to come from the Star Wars comics, with announcements about the ongoing Darth Vader series and a new series debuting soon.

NYCC: "From A Certain Point Of View" Panel Recap

Today at New York Comic Con, Lucasfilm and Del Rey publishing hosted a special panel all about the recently released short story collection, Star Wars: From A Certain Point Of View.  The books was released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of A New Hope in 1977 and features 40 short stories, by 40 authors, each from the point of view of a different secondary or background character. The panel was moderated by Pablo Hidalgo of the Lucasfilm Story Group, who also wrote a story for the book, and featured 19 other authors who wrote stories for the book.

Del Rey Previews 'From A Certain Point Of View' Short Stories on Twitter

We're less than three weeks away from the release of the upcoming collection of short stories, Star Wars: From A Certain Point of View, which retells the story of A New Hope from perspective of various secondary and background characters.  The book, which features stories by forty different authors, is being released in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. To promote the upcoming release of the book, several of the authors involved are tweeting images which reveal the character their story focuses on and contains a quote from their story.  Check out the tweets below,

Del Rey Teases New 'Star Wars' Announcement Coming Tomorrow, "Operation Blue Milk"

Del Rey Books, the publishers of the Star Wars adult fiction novels, are teasing a new announcement coming tomorrow, with the code name "Operation Blue Milk".  Del Rey took to their social media to tease the project posting a picture of a manila folder "Operation Blue Milk" promising more details tomorrow and encouraging those seeking out hints to click on the hashtag.

'Star Wars: Ahsoka' Hits #1 on The New York Times Best Sellers List

Congratulations are in order for Star Wars author E. K. Johnston, whose novel Star Wars: Ahsoka hit #1 on The New York Times Best Sellers list in the Young Adult Hardcover and Young Adult E-Book categories.  The novel, which was released on October 11th, tells the story of Ahsoka Tano between her appearances on the animated series' Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.  The novel was Johnston's first in the Star Wars universe.

Video: "Star Wars Presents: A Writers Roundtable Panel | New York Comic Con 2016"

This past weekend at New York Comic Con, a group of Star Wars authors gathered for a very special panel discussion about writing for a galaxy far, far away.  The panel included Timothy Zahn (Heir to the Empire, Star Wars: Thrawn), Chuck Wendig (Aftermath, Aftermath: Life Debt), Charles Soule (Marvel's Poe Dameron), James Luceno (Star Wars: Tarkin, Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel) E. K. Johnston (Star Wars: Ahsoka), and Kieron Gillen (Marvel's Darth Vader, Star Wars: Classified).  It was moderated by Lucasfilm's senior editor Jennifer Heddle and featured announcements from creative director of Lucasfilm publishing Michael Siglain.  Check out the video below,

NYCC Panel Recap: Star Wars Presents: A Writers Roundtable

Today was a big day for Star Wars at New York Comic Con due to an incredible panel assembled by Lucasfilm there this afternoon. Titled "Star Wars Presents: A Writers Roundtable", the panel featured some of the biggest names in Star Wars literature, including Timothy Zahn(Thrawn), Jim Luceno(Catalyst), Chuck Wendig (Aftermath, Life Debt), E.K. Johnston (Ahsoka) and Charles Soule (Lando, Obi-Wan & Anakin, Poe Dameron). The panel was moderated by Lucasfilm's Jennifer Heddle and Michael Siglain and featured tons of interesting discussion points, and even a few awesome announcements. Our reporters Chris Seekell and Dominic Jones were there to report back on all the most intriguing nuggets of info that were dropped. You can see all their work below:
