'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Tie-In Books and Comics Announced!

Lucasfilm publishing announced the full slate of tie-in books and comics for Solo: A Star Wars Story today in a feature by Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican.  Among the announcements are the adult novel titled Star Wars: Last Shot  by Daniel Jose Older (Shadowshaper, Half-Resurection Blues) about Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, the YA novel Star Wars: Most Wanted by Rae Carson (The Girl of Fire and Thorns) about Han and Qi'ra, and the comic book series Lando: Double or Nothing by Rodney Barnes.  In addition, The Art of Solo by Phil Szostak and Solo: The Official Guide by Pablo Hidalgo were also announced.

Watch The Lucasfilm Publishing Panels From New York Comic Con

Last weekend during New York Comic Con, Lucasfilm publishing hosted two major panels about the recent and upcoming releases of Star Wars books and now Penguin Random House has uploaded high quality versions of the panels to YouTube so that everyone can watch them.  The first panel, held on Friday, featured twelve authors who have written Star Wars books talking about their history with Star Wars and making announcements about what's to come.  The second panel, held on Saturday, features 19 of the 43 authors who contributed to the From A Certain Point Of View collection of short stories.  You can check out both panels below,

NYCC: "From A Certain Point Of View" Panel Recap

Today at New York Comic Con, Lucasfilm and Del Rey publishing hosted a special panel all about the recently released short story collection, Star Wars: From A Certain Point Of View.  The books was released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of A New Hope in 1977 and features 40 short stories, by 40 authors, each from the point of view of a different secondary or background character. The panel was moderated by Pablo Hidalgo of the Lucasfilm Story Group, who also wrote a story for the book, and featured 19 other authors who wrote stories for the book.

Behind the Scenes Clip From the 'Star Wars Rebels' Season Three Blu-Ray About the Return of Thrawn

The blu-ray box set of season three of Star Wars Rebels will be released next week, and in anticipation Nerdist has released a preview clip of the behind the scenes bonus features that will be available on the box set.  The clip is a behind the scenes look at the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn to the Star Wars galaxy and features a fly on the wall look at the moment members of the Lucasfilm story group told author Timothy Zahn (who created the character for 1991's Star Wars: Heir to the Empire) that they would be adapting Thrawn for Rebels.  Check it out below,

Pablo Hidalgo Offers New Details On The Porgs In 'The Last Jedi'

While you were watching the new behind the scenes reel for Star Wars: The Last Jedi that was unveiled at D23, you may have noticed a certain cute and cuddly creature mixed in amongst a plethora of amazing visuals. The bird-like creatures are actually called "Porgs" and they will apparently have a part to play in The Last Jedi.

Lucasfilm has released a video of the full "Animated Origins and Unexpected Fates" panel from Star Wars Celebration Orlando last month.  The panel features Star Wars Rebels executive producer and supervising director of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm creative executive Pablo Hidalgo discussing the behind the scenes origins of several high profile and fan favourite characters from Star Wars animation with host Dave Collins.  The panel also features a never before seen bit of unfinished animation from The Clone Wars, featuring a gun fight between Cad Bane and Boba Fett. Yesterday at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, Supervising director of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and executive producer of Star Wars Rebels, Dave Filoni took the stage alongside the Lucasfilm Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo to share some of the production history of some of the most iconic characters of Star Wars animation.  Included in the many, which went in depth on the development of Ahsoka Tano, Saw Gerrera, and Cad Bane, was a brand new clip from an unfinished, unreleased episode of The Clone Wars.

'The Star Wars Show' Returns With New Segments & A New Host

After an extended hiatus, Lucasfilm's weekly web series "The Star Wars Show" has finally returned. The newest episode includes several notable changes, including the addition of at least one new segment, as well as a brand new co-host.

It appears that Anthony Carboni, whom fans will know from the recent Rogue One premiere live stream and other events, will be taking over hosting duties from Peter Townley alongside Andi Gutierrez. Townley is still expected to return to the show in the future in some capacity.

New Clip From 'Rogue One' Revealed During Cast Q&A

Earlier today, Lucasfilm hosted a special Q&A with the cast of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that was live streamed for fans on Twitter.  Following the Q&A, director Gareth Edwards debuted a new clip from the film.  The clip features Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), and K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) preparing for their journey to the planet Jedha.  The clip shows that their is a lot of tension among our heroes at this, presumably early, point in the film.  You can check it out for yourself below,

First Excerpt From 'Rogue One' Prequel Novel 'Catalyst' Released

Two weeks ago, at New York Comic Con, Star Wars author James Luceno called his upcoming novel Star Wars: Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel "required reading" for fans.  Luceno is not far off in that assessment. The first excerpt from Catalyst, which is a direct prequel to the upcoming film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, was released by USA Today.  The novel will explore the relationship between Galen Erso (played by Mads Mikkelsen in the film) and Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn).  The preview features Galen and his wife Lyra.
