Happy Star Wars day everyone! We are now 229 days away from the release of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker! To celebrate May the 4th(be with you) and also help prepare for the release of the final Skywalker saga film, Lucasfilm has just revealed a ton of exciting tie in books for Episode IX.
Just like for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm will be launching a Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker publishing program. It will include a plethora of books and comics that will be released at various times throughout the rest of this year in the, and many of which will have direct ties to The Rise Of Skywalker, which is slated for release on December 20th.
As Lucasfilm creative director Michael Siglain explains, many of these stories will be set post-The Last Jedi and will set the stage for The Rise Of Skywalker:
“While these titles will include some hints and Easter eggs for the new film, the majority of these titles will feature all-new stories set following the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Our ‘Journey to’ books and comics will star Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, and, of course, Leia, Chewie, the droids, and the First Order. Here, you’ll get a glimpse at both the state of the galaxy and some of the ongoing battles between the Resistance and the First Order."
