Ray Park & Jon Kasdan To Join 'The Star Wars Show' Hosts Tonight For 'Solo' Facebook Live Event

To celebrate the home media release of Solo: A Star Wars Story (available now on digital and September 25th on blu-ray), Lucasfilm is hosting a special Facebook Live event to show off some of the bonus material included on the release.  The event, which will take place tonight (September 20th) at 8pm ET/5pm PT, will be hosted by The Star Wars Show hosts Andi Gutierrez and Anthony Carboni.  It will also feature Solo co-screenwriter Jon Kasdan and Darth Maul actor Ray Park.  The event was announced on this week's episode of The Star Wars Show, which you can check out below,

Jon Kasdan Shares Fifty-Two Behind the Scenes Facts About 'Solo' On Twitter

New 'Solo' Behind the Scenes Clips Focus On L3-37

Before Solo: A Star Wars Story is released as a digital download tomorrow, Lucasfilm has released two new preview clip from the behind the scenes bonus material that will be included with the film.  The clip focuses on the character L3-37, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and her characterization as a droid on the hunt for equal rights.  The clips were first released by Vanity Fair.

Jon Kasdan Describes The Tag & Bink Deleted Scene From 'Solo'

One Easter Egg many fans were looking for in Solo: A Star Wars Story was an appearance by Tag and Bink, a pair of side characters who first appeared in the comic book Tag and Bink Are Dead (a parody series that is to Star Wars what Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead is to Hamlet). The duo start the story as members of the Rebel Alliance aboard the Tantive IV, and through a series of hilarious coincidences wind up appearing in the background of several famous Star Wars scenes, always with a mask on.

In a movie about one of the most beloved characters from the original trilogy, few would have predicted that one of the most talked about moments in the film would involve a fan favourite character from the prequels.  And yet, that's exactly what happened.  Towards the end of the film, after killing her boss Dryden Vos, Qi'Ra makes a call to his boss, the secret leader of the Crimson Dawn, who is revealed to be Darth Maul (or just Maul, as he is now known).

Jon Kasdan and Alden Ehrenreich Discuss Why the Millennium Falcon Looks Different in 'Solo'

One of the biggest surprises of the marketing for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been the redesigned Millennium Falcon.  When we first see the Falcon in A New Hope, it has clearly seen better days (in the words of Luke Skywalker, "What a piece of junk!")  What we didn't release until now is just how much nicer it used to be.  The trailers, and subsequent still images, released have given us a look at what the Falcon looked like when it was owned by Lando Calrissian.

Lawrence and Jon Kasdan Talk About How They Got Involved With 'Solo'

The writing duo behind Solo: A Star Wars Story have a lengthy history with the Star Wars franchise.  Lawrence Kasdan, co-writer of Solo, has been involved in the writing of three Star Wars movies prior to Solo.  He was first recruited by George Lucas in 1979 to re-write his script for The Empire Strikes Back and then partnered again with Lucas on the script for Return of the Jedi.  Thirty years later, he was approached by Lucasfilm to write a Han Solo movie, but before that could get off the ground he was asked to work with JJ Abrams on the script for The Force Awakens.

One thing that is becoming clear about Solo: A Star Wars Story is that it will take us into the criminal underworld of the Star Wars galaxy like never before on the big screen.  This can be seen in the types of characters that we're being introduced through the promotional material.  Director Ron Howard and co-screenwriters Lawrence and Jon Kasdan spoke about some of the new characters featured in Solo in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican, as part of the magazine's cover story about Solo.  The characters covered are Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson), Val (Thandie Newton), and Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany).
