With Solo: A Star Wars Story now available to buy as a digital download, the film's co-screenwriter Jon Kasdan has taken to Twitter to share some fun behind the scenes tidbits about the film. He offers insight into the writing process with his father and co-writer Lawrence Kasdan, the influence of the film's original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller on the film, and what it was like shooting with director Ron Howard and the cast. You can see them all his tweets with the tidbits below,

I appreciate Jon's honesty about the prospects of getting a sequel to Solo not being as great as we might hope. As he points out in the tweets, there are lots of story threads that could be picked up on, many of them it seems they were hoping to get the opportunity to. There have been a lot of rumors and speculation about what will happen with the stand alone films in the future after Solo's disappointment at the box office.
The film's failure to make money (due to an inflated budget that was the result of the massive reshoots that were needed due to Lord and Miller's departure) has thrown the whole idea of more A Star Wars Story films into question. And with Lucasfilm keeping it vague about what's to come after Episode IX (a trilogy from Rian Johnson and a series from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, none of which have set release dates), fans are left to wonder what the landscape of Star Wars films will look like post-2019. Hopefully, somewhere in there, there will be a chance to pick up on the story of Han Solo, Qi'Ra, Lando, Chewbacca, and Maul in the not too distant future.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is available to buy as a digital download now! The film will be released on blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra on September 25th.
