At long last, we're finally being treated to some awesome news from The Mandalorian! So far today we've gotten the first officially poster, and (hopefully) later tonight we'll see a new trailer. But that's not all!
Ming-Na Wen, who is perhaps best known for voicing the title character in the 1998 Disney animated film Mulan, as well as more recently portraying Agent Melinda May in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., was inducted as a "Disney Legend" at the D23 Expo earlier today. During the ceremony Disney CEO Bob Iger mentioned that Wen will also have a role in The Mandalorian, as reported by our own Dominic Jones who was in attendance:

Later, SYFY Wire caught up with Ming-Na Wen herself to further confirm that she will indeed have a role in the first ever Star Wars live-action series. Wen expressed her excitement at being cast, and would give no details about her character other than that she's "not a farmer". You can watch the interview below:

The first episode of The Mandalorian will debut on Disney+ once the new streaming service launches on November 12th!
Ming-Na Wen will star alongside Pedro Pascal (Game Of Thrones) as The Mandalorian, Gina Carano (Deadpool) as Cara Dune, Carl Weathers (Predator) as Greef Carga, Nick Nolte (Affliction), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), and Omid Abtahi (American Gods). The Mandalorian is written and executive produced by Jon Favreau, with episodes directed by Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow, and Rick Famuyiwa.
