Yes, you read that headline right; Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur and billionaire, has just visited the set of the upcoming live-action Star Wars television series.

Production on The Mandalorian is still in full swing, and the series' writer and executive producer Jon Favreau has made a habit of sharing photos from behind the scenes of the show. Earlier today the filmmaker posted a new photo to his Instagram, this time showing Favreau himself alongside SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Favreau captioned the photo, saying; "Discussing hyperdrive technology on set."

In addition to that, Musk himself posted a photo to his Twitter showing himself wielding what appears to be some type of double-barreled blaster. While he doesn't explicitly state it's on The Mandalorian's set, the very Star Wars-esque background seems like a dead giveaway.

So, does this mean Elon Musk will have a cameo in The Mandalorian? Well... most likely not. But it's still cool to get another update on the show, as well as another glimpse behind the scenes, especially from such an unexpected source.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal in the title role alongside Gina Carano (Deadpool), Nick Nolte (Affliction), Carl Weathers (Predator), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), and Omid Abtahi (American Gods). The series' first season, which is expected to be eight episodes in length, is written by executive producer Jon Favreau and directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul), and Rick Famuyiwa (Dope). The series is executive produced by Favreau and Filoni, as well as Colin Wilson and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. The series will debut on Disney+ later this year!
