It's really hard to fathom that John Williams has been creating Star Wars music for over 41 years. The legendary composer is slated to begin working on the final(?) chapter of the Skywalker saga, Star Wars: Episode IX, anytime now, but it also appears he's been busy doing new takes on his classic scores.
The John Williams Fan Network is now reporting that John Williams himself has been hard at work composing some new arrangements of a few of his most iconic scores from the past. The arrangements are composed for violin and orchestra and have been specifically created by Williams for German violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter. These new arrangements will be part of an upcoming album by Mutter. Included are new variants on themes from Harry Potter, Schindler’s List, Dracula, Munich, and others. But by far the most intriguing track is a new arrangement of one of the standout themes from Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones, "Across The Stars".
Across The Stars is one of the most incredible and beautiful pieces of music ever composed by Williams, and hearing it in this new way is truly awe inspiring.
