Arguably one of the greatest aspects of Star Wars it its fans. Star Wars fans are some of the most kindhearted, creative and positive people in any galaxy, and they continue to prove it in many ways. Lucasfilm has now taken to the task of bringing a spotlight to these fans through a new web series that was just launched today.
"Our Star Wars Stories" is a new series that's been revealed on the official Star Wars YouTube channel, hosted by Jordan Hembrough. Yesterday a trailer was dropped featuring many familiar faces, including our friends, the Perales family, also known as The Rogue Rebels:
Today, the first episode of Our Star Wars Stories was released and it focused on Albin Johnson, the founder of the legendary 501st Legion. Johnson spoke in detail about how the charity group came to be, his lifelong affinity for Star Wars, and also shared the heartbreaking story of how his late daughter Katie inspired the Astromech droid R2-KT. I highly recommend watching the full episode below:
At this point in time, when Star Wars fandom seems so fractured by recent events, I applaud Lucasfilm for making a show like this. Heartwarming content like this is what we really need, and it will help to remind all of us what Star Wars is truly all about.
