The Del Rey novel Star Wars: The Old Republic - Fatal Alliance was published on this day seven years ago.
Sean William's book was based on the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, which would be released a year later.
The eight main characters in the novel were based upon the eight character classes in the 2011 Old Republic video game.
In the book, the Sith and Jedi have to co-operate with one another, something that had never been done for, to stop a powerful threat that could destroy the galaxy.
Sue Rostoni, the executive editor and fiction comic editor at Lucas Licensing, first mentioned the book's release back in November 2008.
Sue Rostoni was responsible for the maintenance of the printed Expanded Universe for 20 years |
She said: "A novel will come out sometime around the game release time and that's all that has been determined so far."
A preview of the book was published in Karen Miller's Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit - Siege, which was released two weeks before it.
