SDCC 2017: The Lucasfilm Pavilion & Other 'Star Wars' Displays (Updated!)

San Diego Comic Con kicked off today with the annual preview night where attendees can get their first look at the displays and exclusives available over the next four days.  While there will be no major preview panel for Star Wars: The Last Jedi (there was behind the scenes reel released last weekend at the D23 Expo), there is still plenty for fans to enjoy on the convention floor.  I had a look around the floor today in search of some of the best Star Wars displays and here's what I found.

My first stop was, of course, the Lucasfilm Pavilion to see what teases for The Last Jedi may be on display. While there was no major reveals to be found, there was a cool display of Resistance pilots (and a famous droid) where fans could get their photo taken,

But that was just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to the Lucasfilm Pavilion. You can see more of the displays in the pavilion in the gallery below.

UPDATE: StarWars.com has been updated with detailed photos and info from Lucasfilm pavilion. Interestingly, some of the displays appear to offer some plot details about The Last Jedi! We've included a few of the descriptions below:

C’ai Threnalli
A skillful fighter pilot of Abednedo descent, C’ai Threnalli flies as Poe Dameron’s wingman following the evacuation of D’Qar.

Poe Dameron, Resistance Pilot
Now that the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance has escalated into open warfare, Poe shines as a daring squadron leader. Ever brash and foolhardy, his hot shot antics wear the patience of both First Order and Resistance command.

BB-8
Brave and loyal BB-8 continues his service to Poe Dameron, but also is a good friend and resourceful ally to Finn and Rose during their mission to thwart the First Order.

Comic Con is also well known for it's toy displays and exclusives. One company that always has a fun booth is Hasbro and this year was no exception. Check out the gallery, including a look at the The Last Jedi Luke and Rey figures, the Forces of Destiny adventure figures, and some cool dioramas using the 6" figures, below,

Fans of Star Wars novels will be interested to check out the gallery below to see the display of upcoming books, including Star Wars: Phasma, The Battlefront II tie in novel Inferno Squad, and the anthology of short stories titled From A Certain Point of View. Check it out below,

In addition, Lego and Sideshow had some awesome life size displays for fans to check out. Lego build a life size version of Luke Skywalker from The Force Awakens (which is allegedly taller than Mark Hamill, so figure that one out). Sideshow, debuted their life size K-2SO droid. Check out both below,

And all that just scratches the surface of the Star Wars stuff that's in store for this weekend. There are Star Wars panels every day and plenty more hidden gems on the convention floor. Also, on Friday announcements about Star Wars collectibles (including Hasbro) and Star Wars publishing are expected.
