Lots of amazing Star Wars news has been dropping today from the D23 Expo, and much of it has been related to the Disney Parks. Of course, the announcement of "Galaxy's Edge" was an exciting one, but that wasn't the only big thing Disney had up their sleeves.

The Disney Parks Blog reports that Walt Disney Parks & Resorts chairman Bob Chapek confirmed in a panel at D23 that a Star Wars-themed resort is on its way to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The resort will be a completely immersive experience and will virtually take guests away from Earth and into a Galaxy far, far away. The innovative experience will be part of Disney's new 360 vacation concept and will go above and beyond to create an authentic Star Wars experience.

Guests will reportedly be part of multi-day adventures that will include wardrobes, along with a room with a view into the stars as you virtually travel aboard a ship rocketing through space. It's described as a living adventure and, as Bob Chapek explains, it will truly be out of this world:

“It’s unlike anything that exists today. From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”

Further information about where exactly the resort will be located and when it will open is being kept under wraps for the time being. The Galaxy's Edge expansion to Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World is slated to open sometime next year, so hopefully we will have some more solid details by then.
