Lucasfilm have announced a new Mace Windu comic book series will be published in August 2017.
The new five-issue miniseries has been named Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic - Mace Windu and is set to take place in the time period soon after the Clone Wars commences.
Marvel released an official description of what the comic will be about:
"For over a thousand generations, the Jedi have been the peacekeepers of the galaxy... but now, at the dawn of the Clone Wars, they find themselves in a new role: generals in the Army of the Republic.
"As Mace Windu, one of the Jedi's greatest warriors, leads a small unit of Jedi into battle shortly after the war begins, the Jedi must make peace with their new role, or be lost to the violence around them!"
The announcement came attached with a stunning front cover, illustrated by Jesus Saiz, which features Mace Windu using a Force push on multiple battle droids.
A special Star Wars 40th anniversary variant cover will be made available to celebrate 40 years since the release of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.
