'A New Hope' 40th Anniversary Vinyl Soundtrack Announced

NYCC: "From A Certain Point Of View" Panel Recap

Today at New York Comic Con, Lucasfilm and Del Rey publishing hosted a special panel all about the recently released short story collection, Star Wars: From A Certain Point Of View.  The books was released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of A New Hope in 1977 and features 40 short stories, by 40 authors, each from the point of view of a different secondary or background character. The panel was moderated by Pablo Hidalgo of the Lucasfilm Story Group, who also wrote a story for the book, and featured 19 other authors who wrote stories for the book.

Jon Hamm, Neil Patrick Harris, Ashley Eckstein, and More to Narrate 'From A Certain Point Of View' Audiobook

Lucasfilm has revealed the all star voice cast for the audiobook of the upcoming short story anthology Star Wars: From A Certain Point Of View, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of Star Wars by retelling A New Hope from the point of view of forty different secondary and background characters written by forty different authors.  The cast includes some surprise, big name celebrities like Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Star Wars fan favourites like Ashley Eckstein (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Janina Gavankar (Star Wars Battlefront II), and audiobook staples like Jonathan Davis and Marc Daniels.  Check out the full list below,

Del Rey Previews 'From A Certain Point Of View' Short Stories on Twitter

We're less than three weeks away from the release of the upcoming collection of short stories, Star Wars: From A Certain Point of View, which retells the story of A New Hope from perspective of various secondary and background characters.  The book, which features stories by forty different authors, is being released in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. Video: 'Star Wars Nothing But Star Wars Mixtape'

Last week we celebrate the 40th anniversary if the release of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope (then known simply as Star Wars), and over the past 40 years the film franchise has inspired some very interesting tributes.  In celebration of the 40th anniversary, the team over at Cinefamily TV have released a 95 minute mixtape of Star Wars tributes and parodies.  To put together the video, Cinefamily TV explain in the video's description, "Our crack team of programmers have searched through every corner of the galaxy and the darkest parts of the internet, to find the most brain frying tributes, rip offs, cross promotions gone wrong, and more from the last 40 years of Star Wars."

George Lucas Celebrates the 40th Anniversary of 'Star Wars' at the Grand Prix de Monaco

Star Wars creator George Lucas celebrated the 40th anniversary of the release of his 1977 film this weekend in way that should come as no surprise to his long time fans.  Lucas was joined by stormtroopers and R2-D2 at the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2017 in Monte Carlo.  The Renault Sport F1 Twitter account tweeted some pictures from the festivities.

Anthony Daniels Says 'Star Wars' Changed His Life Forever

In an interview with Talkradio earlier today - on the day of the 40th anniversary of Episode IV - the British actor talked at length about his experience of playing the iconic C-3PO back in 1977.

The Sci-Fi blockbuster soon became the largest grossing film to date, back in 1977, and went onto win seven Academy Awards in 1978.

New 'Mace Windu' Marvel Comic Series Coming In August

Lucasfilm have announced a new Mace Windu comic book series will be published in August 2017.

The new five-issue miniseries has been named Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic - Mace Windu and is set to take place in the time period soon after the Clone Wars commences.

MIT Hosted a 'Star Wars' Themed Robotics Competition

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Star Wars back in 1977 and this has led to some fun celebrations of the saga.  This included a major cast reunion at Star Wars Celebration last month in Orlando, where actors from all seven films--including Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Hayden Christensen, and Ian McDiarmid--joined Star Wars creator George Lucas onstage.  The event culminated in a special concert conducted by John Williams.

What made Star Wars Celebration Orlando so special? 

For many people it was seeing the first trailer for the next Star Wars movie at The Last Jedi panel. For others it was seeing Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and director of Episode VIII, Rian Johnson, on stage together. And for some it was meeting Rian Johnson in a surprise visit to the all night queue for The Last Jedi panel.

Star Wars Celebration Orlando Is Officially The Biggest Celebration Ever

There's no denying that Star Wars Celebration Orlando last week was one of the best Celebrations ever, but did you know it was also the biggest?

Just days after the convention wrapped up in Orlando, Florida, StarWars.com announced that this Celebration, which commemorated the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, is officially "the biggest and most widely-attended Star Wars Celebration" in history. More than 70,000 Star Wars fans from across the globe made the journey to the Orange County Convention Center to catch their first glimpses at Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the fourth and final season of Star Wars Rebels, and witness a jaw dropping "40 Years Of Star Wars" panel which featured appearances by George Lucas, Mark Hamill, Harrison, John Williams and many others. It was an experience that none of us will ever forget.

'Star Wars: From A Certain Point of View' Anthology Book Announced

Yesterday, Del Rey Publishing teased a new Star Wars project with the code name "Operation Blue Milk". Today they announced that "Operation Blue Milk" refers to an anthology book titled Star Wars: From A Certain Point of View.  The book is being released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars and will retell the story of A New Hope from the point of view of the background characters.  Forty authors are involved in the project, each having written one chapter from the point of view of a different character.

Hayden Christensen & Mark Hamill To Headline 40th Anniversary Panel At Celebration Orlando

With just over ten days left until the launch of Star Wars Celebration Orlando, we've been getting a ton of guest announcements recently. In fact, one guest in particular that was just revealed is quite a shocking one!

The official Star Wars Celebration Facebook page has confirmed that none other than Anakin Skywalker himself, Hayden Christensen, will be in attendance and signing autographs at this Celebration. This announcement is a pleasant surprise for fans considering Hayden has not appeared at a Celebration since Star Wars Celebration II in 2002 to promote Episode II: Attack Of The Clones.

Special Tribute of 'A New Hope' To Kick Off Celebration Orlando

It has been forty years since the release of Star Wars: A New Hope and an 'epic' tribute is set to kick start Celebration Orlando 2017.

A special panel has been scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 13. The event has been described as 'marquee' and set to include 'not-to-be-missed' surprises.

Warwick Davis, who played Wicket in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, will host this special panel which will explore the impact of 'Star Wars' and the fandom which has propelled it for the last four decades.

Hasbro Unveils New Black Series Figures in Celebration of 'A New Hope' 40th Anniversary

Hasbro unveiled a new wave of 6" scale Black Series action figures in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the release of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope in 1977 (or, simply Star Wars as it was known back then).  In an announcement in Entertainment Weekly, Hasbro revealed they would be releasing special 40th anniversary versions of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Ben Kenobi, Darth Vader, and R2-D2 all in their iconic A New Hope costumes and with special packaging.  The figures will all be released with "Vintage" style packaging (the same design as the packaging from their original release).  Check out the figures for yourself below,

Star Wars-Themed Run Coming To Singapore This May

A Star Wars-themed run is due to take place in Singapore on May 6 as part of 'May the 4th' celebrations this year. 

Participants can choose to run either a 4.5 km route, where runners can decide whether to join the Rebellion on a "Light" side track or whether to take a walk on the "Dark" side with the Empire.

Runners can also compete in a more challenging 10km route if they so choose.
