When the casts for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi were announced many fans were wondering why Billy Dee Williams was featured among the returning stars. The actor joined the galaxy far, far away back in 1980 in The Empire Strikes Back and became a key part in the rebellion's struggle against the Empire in the subsequent film, Return of the Jedi. So where is he during the new films? While Williams has reprised his role previously on the animated series Star Wars Rebels, and a younger version of the character is set to appear in the upcoming young Han Solo film played by Donald Glover.
While there's still a chance that the character may still appear in the remaining installments in the sequel trilogy, Jamie Stangroom isn't taking any chances. The British comedian behind the These Are the Actors You're Looking For webseries tracked down Williams and had him appear in a special parody commercial for the Cloud City Tourism board. In it, Williams plays Lando once again, and urges viewers to buy the right to name one of Bespin's famous clouds. You can check out the video below,
The music in the video was written and performed by The 3 Dee Nucleus Project, which includes Williams' son Corey Dee Williams.
In addition to Cloud City parody commercial, Stangroom also sat down with Williams for an interview about his life before Star Wars as well as his thoughts about The Force Awakens. The video also features Corey Dee discussing his music. Check that out below,
