Star Wars fans have a ton of things to look forward to in the years to come. As if all the films, television series, games, book and comics weren't enough, even bigger projects are currently in the works.
"Star Wars Land" is the unofficial title given to the 14-acre Star Wars themed park addition that's under construction at both Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Construction on the project began last year and since then rumors have circulated about when the park might open to the public. Now, thanks to a Disney investors conference call that took place earlier today, we now know what year to expect the grand opening of Star Wars Land.
During the call, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Star Wars Land will open in 2019, a year that will also feature the release of Star Wars: Episode IX. In addition, Iger mentioned that he has already seen this year's Star Wars film, The Last Jedi, and praised it as, "a great next chapter in the iconic Skywalker family saga."
It sounds like it's time for all of us to start planning our trips to Disney World and Disneyland. 2019 will be here before we know it!
