I dare say, Star Wars fans are some of the most creative people on the planet. That fact shows through clearly in the Star Wars fan film community where countless productions, ranging from feature length to only a few minutes long, have wowed audiences for decades. One of the newest fan films to hit the web has been drawing some much deserved attention and has garnered over 3 million views after only a few days on YouTube. Produced by T7 Production, "Darth Maul: Apprentice" glimpses into a time prior The Phantom Menace and, as the title implies, focuses on Darth Maul and his thrilling battle with the Jedi. Check out the video below:
Dynamic cinematography, beautiful & unique locations and original music, along with stunning choreography and special effects instantly makes this film one of the best of its kind. There are many stellar fan films that solely focus on the Lightsaber duel(s), and while this one does revolve around a collection of stellar face offs, its given a increased amount of substance with a significant amount of dialogue that is well delivered by its cast. And, contrary to that, I liked the Maul only has one line, which is consistent with his lack of dialogue in The Phantom Menace. It's a nice touch on the filmmaker's part. Also, hats off to those behind makeup and costumes, especially Darth Maul's very authentic look. Darth Maul: Apprentice is an incredible piece of fan filmmaking!
