The new Star Wars Battlefront video game isn't even out and already the hype is building for the first DLC. It's not hard to understand why, since the first DLC is "The Battle of Jakku" and will tie in directly with Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. Today EA posted two pieces of concept art from the game (one had been previously shown at the D23 Expo earlier this month) and some early discussion about the added content. EA describes the DLC as,
Taking place in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of
Endor, players will experience the events that created the massive,
battle-scarred landscape of Jakku shown in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

DICE Concept Artist Anton Grandert also spoke about the DLC saying,
"There’s a David and Goliath theme to this. The epic,
huge super structures of the Star Destroyers contrast against the tiny
but brave Rebel soldiers fighting the Imperial forces.
We wanted to portray a battle completely surrounding you, in every
direction. Debris is falling from the sky, telling the story of battles
above. On the surface of the planet you can see ground troops as well as
X-wings, all taking part of the fight"
"The Battle of Jakku" will be available for download for free to the public on December 7th, but anyone who pre-orders Star Wars Battlefront will get it a week early on December 1st. Star Wars Battlefront hits shelves on November 17th.
