By: Benjamin Hart

Star Wars fans love their collectibles, everything from action figures to soup cans. One of the most prestigious creators of collectibles is Gentle Giant LTD with their incredible assortment of busts and statutes of iconic characters. Today, Gentle Giant unveiled a brand new mini bust of a new and beloved Star Wars character. Rey, who we were introduced to last year in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is being immortalized in a 1:6 scale mini bust. Rey appears as she does in the film on the desert world of Jakku with her quarterstaff in hand. Measuring 4X4X7 and cast in high-quality polyresin, the bust is numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity.

It costs $120.00 and is available for pre-order now. It is slated for release sometime next year. See more photos below and get further info about the Rey mini bust by clicking here!

In the lead up to the release of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, Entertainment Weekly is in the process of releasing a series of behind the scenes videos. The first, released last week, gave us a glimpse at the development of the newly iconic Droid BB-8, and today they revealed a new one focused on Rey's Speeder. Anthony Brezncan hosts the feature and explains the inspiration behind the Speeder, which included 1922 Aston Martin race car, along with Luke Skywalker's speeder seen in A New Hope. He also goes on to point out the finer details of the vehicle, such as it's armaments(or lack thereof), what's under the hood, and hints at what it's in-universe origin may be. You can check out the video below:

BREAKING: First Clip From 'The Force Awakens' Revealed At AMAs

By: Benjamin Hart

Getting tired of all of the trailers and TV spots for The Force Awakens? Well you're in luck, we've finally gotten something different: a clip! Earlier tonight the American Music Awards aired on ABC and Star Wars was a big part of the event with a musical performance honoring the legendary John Williams and the reveal of a brand new TV spot. Additionally, and most notably, during the ceremony they unveiled the first full clip from the film! Our friends at Making Star Wars tipped us off about the clip, and thankfully Comic Book Resources has shared a high quality version of the clip on their YouTube channel which features an extended version of a scene we've seen in many of the previous trailers and TV spots. In it, Rey, Finn and BB-8 search for a means of escape as they are chased down by TIE Fighters on Jakku. We get some great new dialogue and a taste of the new John Williams score. You can check it out below:

O2 TV Spot Featuring R2-D2, C-3PO & BB-8 Revealed

I think it's safe to say The Force Awakens has been spawning some of the best tie-in commercials ever. Earlier this week we were treated to an incredible Verzon TV spot, and before that Energizer released a memorable commercial. Now the British telecommunications provider O2 has gotten in on the craze with a brand new TV spot that features the three Droid stars of Episode VII. Once again, the commercial plays out like a scene from the film itself, showing R2-D2 and C-3PO walking through the desert on what we can assume is Jakku. Later BB-8 appears and the three meet near some moisture vaporators. This ad is especially significant because it is only the second time we've seen Threepio in action with his new red arm(the aforementioned Energizer commercial was the first). It's also great to hear new dialogue from the one and only Anthony Daniels as Threepio. I also don't believe we've heard BB-8 speak, or beep, this much before.

You can check out the spot below, courtesy of Comic Book Resources(YouTube):

Bravo to O2 for creating yet another stunning TV spot! Hopefully plenty more ads are coming soon.

If you're an O2 customer, be sure to check out their web site for special The Force Awakens offers!

Lucasfilm Launches Immersive 360 Jakku Experience

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is now just 85 days away and Lucasfilm has launched a brand new immersive experience on Facebook to promote the film.  The experience allows fans to speed across the desert plains of Jakku and get a good look around the wreckage left behind by a battle between The New Republic and the Galactic Empire.  Check it out below,

Speed across the Jakku desert from Star Wars: The Force Awakens with this immersive 360 experience created exclusively for Facebook.

We got our first look at this area of Jakku back in the second trailer for The Force Awakens back in April, where we saw that downed star destroyer for the first time and the Millennium Falcon flying through a crashed super star destroyer.  Now the question is, how much of what we see in this video will we see in The Force Awakens?  My guess is we'll see most, if not all, of it, we just won't get to take a close look at it the way we do in the video.

The video was created by the ILMxLab, who are pioneering new immersive, virtual reality technologies.

EA Previews 'The Battle of Jakku' Star Wars Battlefront DLC

By: Dominic Jones

The new Star Wars Battlefront video game isn't even out and already the hype is building for the first DLC.   It's not hard to understand why, since the first DLC is "The Battle of Jakku" and will tie in directly with Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.  Today EA posted two pieces of concept art from the game (one had been previously shown at the D23 Expo earlier this month) and some early discussion about the added content.  EA describes the DLC as,

Taking place in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor, players will experience the events that created the massive, battle-scarred landscape of Jakku shown in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Check out the "The Battle of Jakku" concept art below,

DICE Concept Artist Anton Grandert also spoke about the DLC saying,

"There’s a David and Goliath theme to this.  The epic, huge super structures of the Star Destroyers contrast against the tiny but brave Rebel soldiers fighting the Imperial forces.

We wanted to portray a battle completely surrounding you, in every direction. Debris is falling from the sky, telling the story of battles above. On the surface of the planet you can see ground troops as well as X-wings, all taking part of the fight"

"The Battle of Jakku" will be available for download for free to the public on December 7th, but anyone who pre-orders Star Wars Battlefront will get it a week early on December 1st.  Star Wars Battlefront hits shelves on November 17th.

Galactic Map Reveals New Planets?

By: Benjamin Hart

Star Wars 7 News is reporting that the official Italian Star Wars Facebook page recently posted a map of the Galaxy featuring many familiar names, along with some new ones. The post teases Star Wars Day, which will apparently be happening on May 3rd there. The map comes with no details or context, so we're left to presume a great deal. Curiously it's design is almost identical to Milan, Italy's Metro map. But the most intriguing aspect of this map is that it appears that all of the planets seen on it come from either the six films, The Clone Wars or Legends - except three: Jakku, Ikotch and Davaron.

We're actually quite familiar with Jakku by now, which was mentioned by J.J. Abrams at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim a few weeks back, thus confirming that the desert planet we see in The Force Awakens trailers is Jakku. But Ikotch and Davaron, on the other hand, are brand new. According to my research, these names have never before been associated with Star Wars.

So that leads us to some questions; are these actually new, never before seen planets? And if so, will we see them in soon to be released content, like The Force Awakens?

It seems implausible that they are randomly generated names with no purpose, given that all the rest of the names are previously established canon or Legends planets. It's possible "Davaron" is simply a misspelling of Devaron, but I'm just guessing. Regardless, it's obvious whoever made this map did their homework.

It's also worth noting that some have noticed that one of the planets is named "Kira" and are speculating that it is connected to the rumored code name for Rey(Daisy Ridley). Interestingly Kira is not a new planet. In fact, it can be traced all the way back to a Roleplaying game released in the 1990's. Also, the map missing some planets like Coruscant, Kamino, Sullust and others, so it may be focused on a specific region, such as the outer and/or mid rim, and not the entire Galaxy.

So, what do you think? Is this some elaborate joke? Or do we have something here? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
