What a couple of years
this has been for film veteran, Andy Serkis. He is well renowned for his acting
and motion performance capture work, notably witnessed in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy and more recently in
the well-received Dawn of the Apes
blockbuster. The illustrious and in-demand actor is set for a landmark year in
his dramatic career with the premiere of two milestone films in 2015 – Avengers: Age of Ultron and of course, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Notwithstanding this,
the background of Serkis’ character in
The Force Awakens remains enshrouded in mystery. In a recent interview with
the Daily Mirror, Serkis makes it
overtly evident that he will not be unveiling any details encompassing his role
in the Force Awakens any time soon.
Serkis: “As if I can tell you! I can’t tell you anything.
It’s going to be brilliant. The director, JJ Abrams, is doing an amazing job. He
is such a big fan of the original movies and it is a great script and a very,
very good story. It’s amazing to be a part of it.”
Whilst it is
presupposed that the cast and crew are not going to vilify the film prior to its
release, the heaps of praise which have already befallen The Force Awakens will only serve to increase titanic expectations
and amplify the desire to view this film. The
Force Awakens is set for debut across the globe on 18th December
2015. Hold on to your hats, as the force is most definitely with this
blockbuster film!
