New 'Rebels' Image & A Closer Look At The Inquisitor's Lightsaber

Check it out! Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly we have a new photo from the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels, featuring the already heavily teased Inquisitor along with two Stormtroopers:

The most notable part of this photo is not only the Stormtroopers, which are presented in different poses than previously seen, but also the Inquisitor's Lightsaber. The Saber was previously revealed to have a circular hand guard on either side of the hilt, which is said be based on the spinning General Grievous toy Lightsaber by Hasbro. But in this photo, one of the hand guards is missing, leading us to believe that it either folds back or detaches completely from the hilt. And from this view I think it's also safe to assume that it does not spin like the toy that inspired it.

Rebels is set 14 years after the events of Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith and will tell the definitive story of how the Rebel Alliance of the Original Trilogy came to be. The Inquisitor will be the primary antagonist of the show and is tasked by the Empire to hunt down and destroy the last of the Jedi.

I don't about you, but the more I see and learn about this show,  the more anxious I am to see it. If you feel the same way, please come and geek out with us in Club SWU on Facebook!

the second part of the circular blade probably pop out with the second blade... in the previously posted photo, both the blades are lit

I find it interesting that there can only be 2 Sith but there seem to be a lot of Dark Force users with red lightsabers in Star Wars. I always thought the there can only be 2 Sith rule limited the series a bit. What makes these dark force users different from full Sith?

Too many holes with the making of the prequels and clone wars. Lucas, you sold out with your liberal way of thinking. You had Star Trek on the ropes and let them back in the game....smh
