The first episode of The Mandalorian, the first episode of the
new live action Disney+ series, ended with the big reveal that the
bounty the titular Mandalorian has been chasing all episode is not a
fifty year old adult, but actually a baby that is the same species as the Jedi master Yoda. The reveal was an exciting way to close out the first chapter of this new series. And one that the series executive producers were worried would not be kept secret.
Jon Favreau, executive producer and writer of The Mandalorian, and Dave Filoni, executive producer and director of Chapter One of The Mandalorian, spoke about the reveal in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the series' premiere event last week. The duo addressed the reveal and their concern that it would be revealed before the series came out, either through marketing or leaks.
"We didn't know if we'd make it," Filoni said.
"It was a nail biter," Favreau added. "Everything else was coming out."
