Hype has been building for Disney+ recently as we draw closer to its official launch! Unfortunately the new streaming service will only be available to those in the United States, Canada, The Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand starting later this month. Those in the rest of the world will have to wait a bit longer, but thankfully not too much longer.
Today Disney announced the official launch date for Disney+ in several other countries. It's been confirmed that it will debut in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and more on March 31st. They also tease that additional countries will also be added to this release date. You can check out a short teaser video announcing the news below:
Interestingly, if you pay close attention to the video at 0:12 you may spot a brand new clip from the seventh season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which is set to debut on Disney+ in February. The brief shot appears to show members of Clone Force 99, A.K.A "The Bad Batch", fighting some strange droids alongside Anakin Skywalker. We can assume this is a snippet from the Bad Batch arc that was teased in the first trailer that announced The Clone Wars' return.
Disney+ will be home a massive selection of media, including the entire Star Wars saga. The streaming service will eventually host all 12 theatrical films, all seasons of The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance, and many exclusive series, including The Mandalorian and the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi and Cassian Andor focused shows. Disney+ will launch in the United States, Canada, and The Netherlands on November 12th, and soon after on November 19th in Australia and New Zealand. We will provide more updates as more countries and release dates are revealed!
