'The Rise of Skywalker' Producer, Michelle Rejwan Hired As Lucasfilm's SVP of Live Action Development and Production

Michelle Rejwan, producer of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and co-producer of The Force Awakens, has been hired by Lucasfilm as their senior vice president of live action development and production.  The announcement was made this week by the company's president Kathleen Kennedy, who revealed that Rejwan would be working with Lucasfilm on, "shaping the future in all areas of story development, from theatrical film development to live action content for Disney Plus."


Prior to this new position, Rejwan worked extensively with The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker director JJ Abrams.  In addition to their Star Wars films, she also worked with Abrams on Star Trek Into Darkness as co-producer, Super 8 as associate producer, and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Morning Glory as his assistant.

Kennedy added about Rejwan in a statement,
"Working with Michelle over the last seven years as a producer on both ‘The Force Awakens’ and now ‘The Rise of Skywalker,’ I have seen first-hand her skills collaborating with writers and directors, and I’ve been incredibly impressed with her creative skills and her ability to manage the complexity surrounding these massive projects. I know the importance of building a team that you trust and have fun working with – it is paramount to our success."

Congrats to Michelle Rejwan on the new gig, we can't wait to see what she has in store in shaping the future of the galaxy far, far away!

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.  The film is directed by JJ Abrams, with a script by Abrams and Chris Terio, and stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Kelly Marie Tran, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Naomi Ackie, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie Fisher.
