After months of rumors and speculation we now have some official details on the cast of The Mandalorian, courtesy of Lucasfilm. The series, which is written and executive produced by Jon Favreau, is currently in production and will be the first ever Star Wars live-action production for the small screen. StarWars.com has now revealed the full principal cast for The Mandalorian which includes some familiar names!
First off, they confirm the long running rumor that Narcos and Game Of Thrones star Pedro Pascal will be taking on the title role of "The Mandalorian". In addition, they also revealed several other cast members, including the previously rumored Gina Carano (Deadpool), Nick Nolte (Affliction), Carl Weathers (Predator), and Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), along with Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), and Omid Abtahi (American Gods).
In reaction to the news, Jon Favreau released the following statement:

The Mandalorian is set following the events of Return of the Jedi and follows the adventures of a "lone gunfighter" as he navigates the galaxy in the post-Empire/early days of the New Republic. The series' first season is expected to be eight episodes. The episodes are written by executive producer Jon Favreau and directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul), and Rick Famuyiwa (Dope). The series is executive produced by Favreau and Filoni, as well as Colin Wilson and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
