Marvel Directors Reunite On 'The Mandalorian' Set

With such a long wait until the release of Star Wars: Episode IX, it seems fans these days are even more excited about what's coming to the small screen. The Mandalorian will be the first ever Star Wars live-action television series that's currently in production and set to debut next year on Disney+. The series is set after the events of Return Of The Jedi and is written and executive produced by Jon Favreau.


Favreau has made a habit of sharing various photos from the set of The Mandalorian, and the newest photo to be posted to his Instagram will surely catch of the attention of Marvel and Star Wars fans alike.

Earlier today, Favreau shared a new behind the scenes photo featuring some familiar faces. The picture shows Favreau with fellow filmmakers and Marvel directors Anthony and Joe Russo, Peyton Reed, and Taika Waititi. You can check out the photo below:

Favreau himself has a special place in Marvel history having directed the Iron Man 1 & 2, the first of which kicked off the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Russo brothers are best know for directing Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and the still untitled fourth Avengers film. Peyton Reed helmed both Ant-Man and Ant-Man And The Wasp, and Taika Waititi directed Thor: Ragnarok. Waititi will also be directing an episode of The Mandalorian.

Along with Waititi, other episodic directors include Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, and Bryce Dallas Howard. Along with Favreau, The Mandalorian's executive producers include Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, Colin Wilson, and Karen Gilchrist.
