'Star Wars: The Screaming Citadel' Wins Diamond Gem Award

It's not just the Star Wars films that are winning awards these days, but the Star Wars comics as well. Diamond Publishers announced the winners of their annual Gem Awards for the best comics of 2017, and Star Wars: The Screaming Citadel #1 picked up the award for Best Licensed Comic Book of the Year!  The book was written by Kieron Gillen with art by Marco Checchetto.


The Screaming Citadel was a crossover event, which featured the cast and creative teams of the main Marvel Star Wars series and the Star Wars: Doctor Aphra series.  The even ran for five issues, with the (award winning) first issue being released as a standalone book and the following four issues being released in the Star Wars and Aphra series'.

Congrats to the Marvel Star Wars team on this win!
