Earlier this week we were treated to the Lego version of the new teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi which provided us with a whole new way to experience the trailer for the upcoming film. As to be expected, the Lego edition wasn't the only alternative version of the teaser, and one particular fan edit caught the eye of a very important person behind the scenes of The Last Jedi.
The latest incarnation comes courtesy of JoBlo on YouTube who shared an 8-bit version of the trailer. In it, we see all the now iconic scenes completely recreated in the style of classic 8-bit video games. You can check it out in full below:
To top everything off, the trailer recently caught the attention of The Last Jedi writer and director Rian Johnson. Johnson took to Twitter to share the video with his followers and gave it a glowing review:
@stratmasterj Oh my god that is awesome. Well done!— Rian Johnson (@rianjohnson) May 10, 2017
Here's something pleasant! Makes me want to replay Monkey Island. https://t.co/VX5WhvxtOh— Rian Johnson (@rianjohnson) May 10, 2017
