While reaction to the first Star Wars: Battlefront video game Electronic Arts produced was mixed, at best, there is a lot of excitement for the upcoming sequel--especially following the game's debut at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando last month. And with good reason. EA seems to have taken many of the criticisms of the first game and addressed them in the sequel, including a single player campaign and the ability to play across multiple eras.
Another criticism was that when the first game launched in November 2015 there was a distinct lack of content, with only three planets being included when the game first hit the shelves. EA CEO Andrew Wilson addressed this concern during a conference call following the release of its quarterly earnings. Wilson promised that the upcoming game will have three times as much content at launch as its predecessor did when it launched two years ago.
Wilson touched on Star Wars again briefly, referencing two other upcoming projects, saying,
"Through FY19 and beyond, our portfolio will continue to grow. There will be more new experiences for our Battlefield fans, our
Star Wars action-adventure IP from Visceral will make its debut, and
farther out, we'll have a new Star Wars title from our partners at Respawn."
