You would think that after six season's of HBO's smash hit series Game of Thrones Emilia Clarke would well equipped to handle the secrecy of Star Wars. Turns out that the Force is even scarier than dragons. Clarke, who is set to star alongside Alden Ehrenreich in the upcoming young Han Solo film, spoke with the Los Angeles Daily News recently and compared the secrecy surrounding the two projects. Clarke said,
“I genuinely can’t tell you anything other than Alden is magnificent,
and it’s a delight to do something on that level with really cool actors
and nice people. But it’s even scarier talking about that than ‘Game of
Thrones.’”
Considering the levels of secrecy that have surrounded the last two seasons of Game of Thrones, it says something that the secrecy surrounding Star Wars is scary by comparison. This is after all the movie where the actor playing Han Solo was too afraid of his NDA to confirm he'd done any screen tests with the actor playing Lando. If that's not an absurd level of secrecy, I'm not sure what is.
The untitled young Han Solo film hits theaters on May 25th, 2018 and stars
Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!) as Han Solo, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Emilia
Clarke (Game of Thrones), Woody Harrelson (True Detective) as Beckett, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Thandie Newton (Westworld), and
Michael K. Williams (The Wire). The film is directed by Phil Lord and Chris
Miller (The Lego Movie), with a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan.
