New 'Star Wars Rebels' Promo Teases Saw Gerrera

Now that we've all had the chance to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in theaters several times, it's time to take a step back and get some backstory on one of the film's most intriguing characters. This weekend Star Wars Rebels returns for an hour-long, double episode midseason premiere that connects directly to Rogue One and includes an appearance by none other than Saw Gerrera(voiced by Forest Whitaker).

The episodes, which are titled "Ghosts Of Geonosis" parts 1 and 2, follows the crew of the Ghost as they journey to the desert planet in search of some fellow rebels that have gone missing. That is where they will meet Saw and get an up close look at his brutal tactics... whether the like it or not.

Our friends at The Wookiee Gunner got their hands on a new preview for the episodes that was released by Disney XD. It mixes footage from the episodes with clips from Rogue One(even though much of them aren't even in the movie). You can check it out below:

One of the voices in the preview sounds very much like Bail Organa, who is someone we haven't sen in Rebels for a while, but we did see in Rogue One. It seems these episodes will interface well with Rogue One and could give us more backstory on the rift between the Rebel Alliance and Saw's rebels.

"Ghosts Of Geonosis" airs this Saturday, January 7th, at 8:30pm ET/PT on Disney XD!
