Happy New Year!  Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is now the second highest grossing film at the domestic box office of 2016.  The film, whose domestic box office tally is currently $424.9M, passing Captain America: Civil War ($408M) and still trailing Finding Dory ($486M).  An interesting note, all three of the top films at the domestic box office this year were Disney films.

At the international box office, Rogue One currently sits 10th with $708M (not including this weekend), having recently taken the #10 spot from Marvel's Doctor Strange ($657.2M), with Suicide Squad ($745M) currently holding down the #9 spot.

Last year The Force Awakens finished #1 worldwide with $936.6M domestically and $1.1B at the foreign box office, for a grand total of approximately $2 Billion.  While Rogue One will finish nowhere near that (and no one expected it to), it should finish as the top film domestically and among the top films worldwide.
