Report: Carrie Fisher Spotted Near 'Episode VIII' Sets in Ireland

We may have another name to add to the already impressive list of Star Wars stars that have been spotted near reported filming locations for Episode VIII in Ireland.  Carrie Fisher, aka General Leia, has been spotted in Dingle, near Ceann Sibéal, The Irish Examiner reports.  Also in the area are Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), and director Rian Johnson, all of whom were photographed leaving the Belfast airport last week.

Several stone huts, similar to those seen on Skellig Michael (where the final scene from The Force Awakens was filmed), have been constructed near a cliff face in Ceann Sibéal.  This seems to make it clear that scenes being shot there are set on the same location (filming restrictions on Skellig Michael reportedly forced the filmmakers to seek out other locations to double for the planet in Episode VIII).  Pictures of the Ceann Sibéal set can be seen here.

This raises the question of what Leia is doing there?  After getting word from Rey (or Chewie and R2) that Luke had been found, did she immediately head off to reunite with her brother?  Or perhaps Luke was less than willing to leave the island when Rey got there, so Leia is making a visit to attempt to convince him to return to the fight?  This is pure speculation on my part.

For a very intriguing report about what else was filmed in Ireland last week, click here (but be warned, these are spoilers!)
