Luke Skywalker has emerged victorious in this year's "This is Madness", StarWars.com's annual Star Wars character tournament where fans vote for their favorite characters. Despite having no lines in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Luke defeated Darth Vader in the final, getting 64% of the vote. To reach the final Luke had to beat Hera Syndulla, Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Rey. Previous winners of "This is Madness" include Yoda (2013), Obi-Wan (2014), and Darth Vader (2015).
According to StarWars.com,
"This marks the first title win for Skywalker — and a notable one, coming
against his biggest nemesis and last year’s champion. This tournament
also marked a huge turnaround for the Jedi; in This Is Madness 2015, he
did not even make the tournament, losing a Play-In matchup to Ahsoka
Tano, and had previously never made it past the second round. But with
a powerful appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, his popularity seems to be at an all-time high."
We reached out to Luke for comment, but our request was met with silence and an intense stare.
