Earlier this week our good friends at Making Star Wars spotted a report from Jedi Bibliothek that revealed cover artwork for two new books focused on Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. One shows a character we're very familiar with in a place we've never seen him before, and the other may just give us our first look at never before seen character.
The first illustration is of Finn in one of the Millennium Falcon's gunner seats on the cover of a World Of Reading book titled "Finn & The First Order". It's an awesome mix of new with the old.
The second is a cover for a The Force Awakens themed "Look And Find" book. The artwork depicts several scenes in the film in a few different locations. such as both inside and outside the Resistance base, inside Maz Kanata's Castle, and what appears to be a Jakku village. We also noticed something else interesting in the cover that could be considered SPOILERS to some, so read further at your own risk.
The most intriguing aspect of the cover is the Jakku village in the bottom right corner. The cutaway of one of the huts appears to show a meeting between Poe Dameron, BB-8 and the character played by Max Von Sydow, who is rumored to be named Lor San Tekka. If you've read previously revealed rumors then you know the context of this particular scene. Surprisingly this this is our first ever look at Sydow's character, if it is indeed him.
Jedi Bibliothek also uncovered information for two other World Of Reading Books which are titled "Chaos At The Castle" and "Finn & Poe Team Up!", undoubtedly referencing sequences that have been rumored in the past.
It's awesome to finally see some of these scenes we've heard about realized, albeit in art and not on screen just yet. December 18th can't come soon enough!
